TempleBet Betting Review

4.0
By:Mike Jones

TempleBet is another of the myriad betting sites that opened up in late 2024, having launched in October using the ever popular BetCloud platform. Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of similarities between TempleBet and all of those other new bookies, but no two betting sites are identical and this one, as they all do, has an array of pros and cons that are unique to them and them only. In this detailed TempleBet review, we take a look at a wide range of factors to help you decide whether TempleBet is worth checking out.

About TempleBet

TempleBet has joined the betting ranks as yet another new betting site utilising the BetCloud platform, and offers a solid betting experience for punters.

The standout feature of this betting site is undoubtedly their sports odds, which are right up there with the best in the business. This the case across the board, with everything from moneyline through to player props odds generally right up there with the best.

TempleBet also offers a really good selection of sports markets for major sports, with upwards of 500 markets not uncommon for individual matchups. Unfortunately this is not matched by their range of sports, with only a handful of them available, but among the sports they do offer, the markets and odds are really good.

On the racing side of things, it’s not quite so positive for TempleBet. The odds that they offer here are not even remotely comparable to their sports odds – in fact, they are worse than the vast majority of competitors, so if you’re a racing bettor then this will likely be a major red flag.

In terms of the other components of the site, TempleBet is relatively standard relative to their fellow BetCloud users. They have a very user-friendly website, obviously, using this platform, and a decent enough aesthetic that will stick in your mind.

Their customer support platform is good, offering all three forms of contact, though as always live chat is the way to go for many issues if you want a quick and easy resolution.

On the payment method front, things are very limited with TempleBet, with only debit/credit card and bank transfer available. But this is pretty standard for new betting sites, and won’t pose too much of a problem for most punters.

Finally, one great feature of TempleBet is the fact that they have an app. More on this later in this TempleBet review, but while apps are pretty widespread these days, many new betting sites take a little while to get theirs developed. TempleBet, however, has got theirs up and running pretty quickly.

Overall, TempleBet is a pretty decent new betting site, though it’s certainly better suited to some punters than others. If you’re a sports bettor, you’ll love their elite odds and range of markets, but racing punters might have reason to be concerned about the racing odds.

TempleBet Review Pros & Cons (+ Verdict)

As with all bookies, TempleBet has a unique set of pros and cons. We’ll discuss all of these in detail throughout the course of this TempleBet review, but below, we briefly touch upon some of the most notable of each of them.

👍TempleBet Strengths

  • Competitive odds for sports: New betting sites don’t always excel in their odds – in fact often they are pretty poor – but that is not the case with TempleBet Australia when it comes to sport, with their odds for markets like line bets and over/under really competitive.
  • App available straight off the bat: Quite a number of the new BetCloud-based betting sites that have popped up in late 2024 have not launched with an app readily available, but TempleBet had one pretty much ready to go from launch.
  • Good live chat platform: Live chat is, in my view at least, the easiest way to get into contact with a betting site, and TempleBet makes it easy and efficient to resolve problems using this method.

👎TempleBet Weaknesses

  • Limited payment options: This may not be a major problem if you use the popular payment platforms like debit/credit card, but if you want to branch out a little you won’t have many options at TempleBet
  • No live betting: Unfortunately, if you want to engage in some live betting, as so many punters do in this day and age, you will have to look elsewhere, with this form of betting not currently available at TempleBet.
  • Dreadful racing odds: While TempleBet has really competitive odds for sports betting, unfortunately the same cannot be said for racing. Their odds are really poor here, with their odds pretty poor compared to their competitors.

👨‍⚖️TempleBet Bookmaker Verdict

Whether this range of strengths and weaknesses are good or bad will depend on the punter. Those looking for great sports odds, for example, will be pretty happy to give TempleBet a try based on the above, while if you bet exclusively on racing you can certainly find better options elsewhere.

TempleBet Features

It can sometimes be hard to find really standout features for new and small betting sites, and TempleBet realistically falls into that category. They don’t have many really notable features, but there are a couple of things on offer here that aren’t widely available particularly with the other new bookies that launched in 2024.

Functional mobile app

Having a mobile app is not exactly something that is unique to TempleBet, with basically every major betting site having one available for their punters. But of all the new bookies that launched at a similar time in late 2024, the TempleBet app has been one of the first to be released. It’s downloadable from wherever it is that you get your apps from on either iOS or Android, and importantly is a well-designed and streamlined app that allows you to access everything that TempleBet has to offer.

Fantastic sports odds

It’s not all that easy to find elite odds with new betting sites, and if you looked at the odds available for TempleBet’s racing markets you would understandably think that applies to them too. But head to their sports markets, and you will quickly realise that this is no ordinary new sports betting site. The odds available for sports – they are among the absolute best in the business, with line and over/under bets right up around the $1.90 and even $1.91 mark, putting them up there with the giants of the betting world. We will talk about this in a lot more detail in the next section, but make no mistake – the sports odds available with TempleBet would be a standout feature for any betting site, let alone a brand new one.

TempleBet Odds

Odds are one of the most important things to consider when looking at any new betting site. That may sound obvious, but there are a lot of people who don’t take into account the fact that different bookies provide different odds for the same markets. Obviously if you’re putting on a $5 bet one time, these marginal difference in odds won’t matter too much, but if you’re putting on larger amount or betting consistently, these differences add up.

We’ve scoured the TempleBet website to suss out how their odds compare to other bookies in Australia, and the results are pretty mixed. If you’re a sports bettor, you’ll be pretty happy with what they have to offer. As an example, take a look at the below screenshot.

This is for an upcoming NBA game, and the odds are competitive with the biggest and best bookies in the country. The odds for the line market sit at $1.88 and $1.92, an average of $1.90, which is about as good as you will get – maybe some bookies will edge up to $1.91, but that’s rare. And for the over/under, the average is $1.91, which is absolutely as competitive as you will find anywhere.

The same goes for player props. This is one area in which different bookies can vary wildly, with the difference between the best and worst odds for a player to get x amount of points, for example, often very different. But again, TempleBet does a great job of putting themselves right up there – certainly not top of the tree like with the above line and over/under markets, but still very much in the upper echelon in terms of odds.

This is excellent for a new bookmaker and not particularly common, but unfortunately it does not extend to their racing odds – not even close. It almost seems as though TempleBet have opted to take a much smaller margin for sports in order to take a much bigger one for racing.

To compare among different bookies I use a site which shows the odds at a range of major betting sites, making it easy to contrast against the site I’m reviewing. Taking a look at a random Australian race, I can see that runner #1 is generally at $13-14 across the board – at TempleBet it’s $13.50. Not a bad start, but it gets worse. Runner #2 ranges from $4.20 to $4.80, but is only $4.00 at TempleBet, while runner #3 is at $5.25 with TempleBet and no lower than $5.70 anywhere else. That trend continues across most runners, and across most races.

These are really, really poor odds – not just in the lower tier of betting sites, but often worse than any others. Basically, if you are a racing bettor, then I’d be sure to shop around – certainly there are some runners with decent odds at TempleBet, but the majority are a lot worse than average.

But as mentioned, if you bet on sports, then you’ll be very happy with what’s on offer at TempleBet, with some excellent odds available for a range of different markets. This is a good example of how much variance there can be in odds even within the same bookmaker, with TempleBet’s sports odds elite and their racing odds well below average.

TempleBet Markets

Now to the markets, of which there are plenty at TempleBet. Like with odds, this needs to be looked at from the lens of both sports and racing, though for the latter of those there is not really going to be all that much variance from one betting site to another.

With TempleBet racing, you’ll be able to bet on any race that you want and have access to all the standard markets. Obviously you’ve got win/place available as well as all the standard exotics like quinella and trifecta, while you can also bet on racing using their ‘Blended’ feature, which allows you to select a group of runners from which you think the winner will come.

As for sports, things can differ a little more significantly across different betting sites. But as with their sports odds, the range of sports markets available at TempleBet Australia is really impressive. For big individual games of basketball or NFL, for example, you can find upwards of 500 markets, with everything from head to head, over/under, to exact score and player props.

TempleBet also offers markets on some less popular sporting events, and as with every bookie there is not the same selection of markets on offer for these ones, with only the most basic markets generally available – though as you can see below, you’ll still have access to up to 200 markets for college basketball, as an example, with the number of markets available shown below the odds for each game.

One area that TempleBet could improve in terms of their range of sports markets is in the number of sports that are on offer. At the time of writing there is only eight different sports available – this will vary throughout the course of the year, with some popping up at different times to allow for AFL and NRL betting, for example, and others that are currently available not always there, but regardless, eight is a pretty low number no matter what time of year.

Overall, the range of markets at TempleBet bookmaker is pretty good. They have everything you would expect from a racing perspective, while they offer a really good selection of sports markets for major events. They could improve by adding more sports to their arsenal, but overall the selection will appease most punters.

TempleBet Live Betting

Live betting is a popular way to punt, providing a point of difference from the standard pre-event markets. Government rules and regulations don’t make this form of betting easy though, and bookies need to take these bets via phone rather than online, and this proves something of an impediment to some betting sites.

TempleBet is one of them. Live betting is not currently part of their repertoire, with no option to place bets on any events after they have started. This is pretty commonplace for new and small betting sites, and if they do grow into a bigger bookie perhaps they will one day become a live betting site. For the time being, however, you will have to look elsewhere if you want to place a live bet.

TempleBet App

Betting apps have become so popular so quickly in the betting world that for many, if not most, punters out there, they are the preferred way to access a betting site. With their popularity it’s unsurprising that most bookmakers make a big effort to create a good one, though there are a number of these new betting sites that have taken a little while to get one developed.

But TempleBet is not one of them. They’ve been really quick to develop an app, releasing it soon after their launch to enable their customers to quickly and easily use the TempleBet platform from the comfort of their iOS or Android device.

The app is not without fault, but by and large it is a pretty easy one to use and will no doubt get plenty of traffic among punters who choose to give TempleBet a try. Like the website, the TempleBet app is user-friendly and intuitive to use, enabling you to quickly and easily navigate their range of markets, place bets, contact customer support or do whatever it is that you want to do.

Most importantly, the app is really smooth and speedy to use. This is increasingly an expectation for apps not just for betting sites, but for any business, but there are some bookies’ apps that can be relatively buggy. TempleBet’s is not one of them. In my experience using it I didn’t come across any major issues, and was always able to navigate to where I wanted to go with relative ease.

Overall, it’s a big plus for TempleBet that they have been so quick in developing an app to complement their desktop site. And importantly, it’s a really functional one, providing an excellent alternative to the BetCloud website which many of their customers will no doubt make the most of.

TempleBet Promotions

Basically every betting site has a range of promotions for customers. It’s easy to understand why; with so little differentiating so many bookies, bonuses can be a good way for betting sites to lure customers into depositing money with them, as opposed to their competitors.

Often these promotions sound a lot better in theory than they are in reality, and with the need to turnover any winnings from them they can often not be all that beneficial at all. But on the other hand, when you do come across a good promo they can be a great way to get an edge if used wisely.

TempleBet is not exactly an industry-leader when it comes to the promotions that they offer, but they do have a pretty good range. Of course, these promos are constantly changing so there is little point in outlining what they have available now, as they will soon be changing. And besides, even if we wanted, Australian rules and regulations prohibit the publishing of specific promotions – you’ll have to be logged in to your TempleBet account to check out what they are offering in this space.

TempleBet Payment Methods

While some bookmakers offer every payment method under the sun for deposits and withdrawal, your options with TempleBet are relatively limited. In fact, they are about as limited as it gets, but TempleBet are hardly alone in that regard, with most new betting sites also only opting to stick to the most common forms of payment.

For deposits, this means that your options are debit/credit card, or bank transfer – the former of which is immediate and the latter of which will take a few hours or potentially a day or so. The minimum deposit using both these methods is $10.

For withdrawals, you’ll have to use bank transfer, which will see your funds transferred directly to your bank account but which will once again take anything from a few hours to a couple of days. Again, the minimum withdrawal is $10.

For me, this lack of payment options is not an issue at all. I have a debit card, I have a bank account, and these are the options that I would choose to use even if every payment method under the sun was available. Many other punters are the same. Certainly there are some who might like to have other options and some for whom this could even be a dealbreaker, but by and large it’s understandable why a small betting site like TempleBet wouldn’t bother with the additional work required to add payment methods that most people won’t even use.

TempleBet Customer Support

Most of these new betting sites using the BetCloud platform offer two of the three common customer support methods – email and live chat, with a phone number typically excluded. TempleBet bucks the trend to some extent by offering all three, although the phone number is advertised more as a means to make use of TempleBet’s safe gambling tools.

For me, the live chat option is still far and away the best option in most situations. This is easily accessible by clicking on the Contact Us button on the left-hand side of the page, and then the small blue bubble that subsequently pops up on the bottom right, as you can see in the below screenshot.

From there you simply follow the prompts and type in your issue, and one of the TempleBet customer support agents will be there like a guardian angel to sort you out.

Of course, sometimes you might not have time to sit down and have a yarn with these agents to resolve whatever query you have, in which case email is a handy alternative. You can simply send the email off and continue on your merry way, and deal with their response when you have the time.

Overall this is a pretty standard customer support platform. The existence of a phone number is a nice addition given few other new betting sites have one, though generally you are best off just using live chat or email to sort out whatever it is that needs sorting out.

FAQs About TempleBet

Below, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions that we get about TempleBet.

How do I sign up with TempleBet?

Signing up with TempleBet bookmaker is super easy, as it is with every betting site. All that you need to do is head to the website and locate the ‘SIGN UP’ button, which you can see in the top right-hand corner of your page. Once you click this, you will be asked to fill in some basic personal information and create a a password, as you can see in the screenshot below, after which your account will be created. It’s super easy, with the whole process taking only a minute or so to complete.

Should I use TempleBet for sports or racing?

TempleBet has a solid selection of markets for both sports and racing, but this is clearly a bookmaker which is better to use for sports betting. The reason for this is the odds. There is a massive discrepancy in what they offer for these two areas, with the sports odds available with TempleBet among the best in the business and their racing odds among the worst.

Can I live stream anything with TempleBet Australia?

Unfortunately, at this point you cannot stream anything with TempleBet Australia. This is very commonplace for a new betting site, which don’t generally have enough funds to devote to purchasing broadcast rights for live streaming, and TempleBet is no different.

Is TempleBet a legitimate betting site?

Of course – we would not review it if it wasn’t. TempleBet is licensed by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, with David McLaughlan the owner. They’ve also got their own Responsible Gambling Code of Conduct and an array of safe gambling tools available at the bottom of the home page, while for South Australian residents TempleBet’s gambling operations are governed by the South Australian Responsible Gambling Code of Practice.

Who can use TempleBet?

Anyone, as long as you fulfil a couple of criteria. Firstly, you have to be at least 18 years of age, as you do for any betting site in Australia. You also need to be within the country to make an account, and to use that account.

Conclusion & Final Thoughts

TempleBet is, in many ways, just another betting site that is very similar to the rest that have launched in recent months and years using the BetCloud platform, but they do have their own set of positive and negative elements. One thing that stands out about this bookie is their excellent sports odds and range of markets for major sports, so if you’re a sports punter then you will definitely enjoy this element. In contrast, the worst thing about the site has to be their racing odds, which are really poor compared to the rest of the competition. That aside, they have a solid customer support platform, a user-friendly website and a good app, so if you’re a sports punter in particular, there is plenty of reason to check this new bookie out.
