ChromaBet Betting Review

4.0
By:Mike Jones

ChromaBet has recently joined the betting industry utilising the wildly popular BetCloud platform, and boasting a memorable interface and a great range of markets, there is plenty of reason to check them out. In this detailed ChromaBet review, we take a look at every component of this new bookie that you could possibly need to know about, from their odds and markets through to their customer support platform and range of payment methods.

About ChromaBet

ChromaBet officially joined the betting ranks as recently as October of 2024, utilising the ever-popular BetCloud platform. That means that it bears plenty of similarities to a host of other new betting sites that have recently joined the fray, but as with all bookies, it is its own entity with an array of features, pros and cons that make it unique.

For starters, while the interface uses the BetCloud platform and as a result navigation around the site will likely be very familiar to you, the actual look is instantly recognisable. ChromaBet uses a dark background, as you can see on the below screenshot, juxtaposed against a whole lot of fluro green and blue to help the site to stand out.

As we all know, appearances are not everything, but fortunately there is a bit of substance behind the aesthetically pleasing ChromaBet interface too. They do not have a particularly wide range of sports on offer, but for the sports that they do have they provide markets on a range of different leagues. And if you’re into the big ones like the NBA, you will find an enormous range of markets, with the selection of player props particularly notable. The odds here are pretty reasonable too, particularly for those props.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the racing odds that ChromaBet offers. They do, of course, offer the same markets as what you will broadly find on betting sites for racing, but the odds are towards the lower end of the spectrum. One positive about the ChromaBet racing experience, however, is the presence of the ‘Blended’ feature, which we discuss in greater detail further along in this ChromaBet review.

ChromaBet is lacking in a few areas that most new betting sites generally lack in, most notably the lack of a live betting platform as well as the lack of any live streaming availability. But this is a generally accepted reality of new betting sites.

More disappointing is the absence of a ChromaBet app. Mobile apps have become such a popular way to bet in recent years and generally betting sites are pretty quick to release one once they launch. ChromaBet may very well be the same and release one soon, but at the time of writing, you’ll have to make do with the mobile site if you want to use ChromaBet on your mobile.

In terms of the less interesting but still important things to consider about a betting site, ChromaBet has a pretty decent customer support platform, offering live chat seven days a week as well as an email, though there is no phone number for you to call. And as for payment methods, they keep it pretty simple here, offering purely debit/credit card – Visa or MasterCard – when you want to deposit.

Overall, ChromaBet is a relatively standard new betting site, but as mentioned earlier it does have its own unique profile that no other bookmaker shares. It excels in a really good range of sports betting markets for major sports and solid odds there to boot, as well as a quality website, while areas of improvement include the development of a ChromaBet app, and some better racing odds.

ChromaBet Review Pros & Cons (+ Verdict)

As with all betting sites, ChromaBet has its good and its bad qualities, and below we take a look at the most prominent among them.

👍ChromaBet Strengths

  • Memorable and simple interface: The ChromaBet interface is littered with bright colour and will stick in the minds of users, while the BetCloud platform makes it very easy to navigate.
  • Solid odds for sports markets: Odds are not always a strength of new betting agencies, and while those at ChromaBet are not industry-leading, they are very competitive and superior to many other new bookies.
  • Competitive range of sports markets: As with odds, new betting sites often struggle to be competitive when it comes to range of markets, but ChromaBet Australia has done a good job of ensuring that there is plenty for users to find in terms of markets.

👎ChromaBet Weaknesses

  • No mobile app: Even new betting sites generally get a mobile app up and running pretty quickly, unsurprising given how popular this means of betting is, but unfortunately ChromaBet does not yet have one at the time of writing, meaning you’ll have to head to the mobile or desktop site.
  • No live streaming: Generally live streaming is reserved to the bigger, often international betting sites, and ChromaBet is another example of a new bookie that doesn’t offer this popular feature.
  • No live betting: Live betting has grown in popularity in recent years, but like live streaming it often is not available with new betting sites. Unfortunately, ChromaBet is no exception.

👨‍⚖️ChromaBet Bookmaker Verdict

ChromaBet’s list of pros and cons is relatively standard for a new bookie, though there are a couple of surprises in there. The fact that they have decent odds and a good range of sports markets will certainly attract plenty of newbies, though they would want to create a mobile app to further their potential market reach.

ChromaBet Features

It’s increasingly difficult for betting sites to stand out from the crowd, particularly those which use the extremely popular BetCloud platform. A couple of nifty features, however, can help to do just that. The below features are far from unique to ChromaBet Australia, but they are also not available at every betting site and do help to give this bookie an added edge.

Blended

Blended is a great new addition to a few betting sites that can really provide an added dimension to betting on racing. You know when you’re punting on a race and there are two or three horses which you’re sure are set to be battling it out, but you can’t quite decide which of them will take it out? Maybe you’ll place a bet on two or three of them, but obviously this requires more work and means you’ll likely either have to bet more, or bet less on each individual leg than you would like.

Blended resolves all of that. Using this feature, you can bet on, for example, three different horses at the same time, meaning that you win if any of them win. Obviously the odds shorten as you add more horses to your blended bet, but your payout will be based on the fixed blended odds that you got rather than the odds of the horse that won. That means, for example, that if you blend an odds on favourite and a $21 outsider, if the odds-on favourite wins you will probably get close to the same payout as you would have betting directly on that favourite. If the $21 outsider wins, however, you’ll also get the same payout, which will be a lot less than it would have been had you bet outright on that outsider. As with all betting, this is risk vs reward, but it’s also a lot of fun.

Same game multi

Same game multis are everywhere these days, and it’s no surprise given that they enable you to ride a bunch of different legs on the one match. At ChromaBet, same game multis are not available on every league, but all of the major ones will have the option, which is outlined by the SGM logo as seen a couple of times in the above image. If you’re unfamiliar with how they work, same game multis require you to select multiple outcomes from the same match, with your odds multiplying as you add more legs. For example, in the NBA you might bet on Team A to win, Player B to have 25+ points and Player C to have 10+ rebounds.

ChromaBet Odds

Odds are one of the primary things to take a look at when analysing a new betting site. Of course, how much they really matter depends on a couple of things. If you’re only placing one bet the minor differences between betting sites might not be particularly important, but if you bet a lot they can add up over time.

Differences in odds can also be much more significant for certain markets. For example, while money lines won’t generally differ all that much, player props can be far more disparate with different bookmakers.

The best odds will generally come from the biggest bookmakers, but there is still variance in new and small betting sites. ChromaBet Australia is far from the worst among these new bookies when it comes to sports odds, though their racing odds leave plenty to be desired.

An upcoming race in Victoria, for example, has the favourite at anywhere from $2.00 to $2.25 with most bookies, and is $2.05 with ChromaBet. Another runner varies from $4.80 to $5.50, and is $5.50 with ChromaBet. This kind of trend continues across most runners, with the ChromaBet odds coming in right at the lower end of the spectrum relative to other betting sites.

When it comes to sports though, things are not quite so dire. One of the easiest ways to suss out odds with a betting site is to look at their line betting odds, as this gives you an idea of what they will offer for two evenly matched markets. At ChromaBet, you’ll get these markets at around $1.88 or $1.89 – better than some betting sites, worse than others.

For player props though, their odds are pretty good, and this is something that is not very common for new bookmakers. It’s also an area in which there is generally a lot of disparity among different bookies, so if you’re a prop bettor then ChromaBet Australia is certainly worth checking out.

Overall, the odds at ChromaBet are a little erratic. For racing, they are objectively not particularly good and you will certainly find better elsewhere. For standard sports markets they are around industry average, while for more obscure things like player props, ChromaBet does a pretty good job of offering solid odds.

ChromaBet Markets

Now to the range of markets, which as we mentioned at the top is actually a strength of ChromaBet – something which is not always the case for new and small betting sites.

For racing, their markets are pretty standard. They have every race in Australia and all the international ones of note, you can bet on fixed odds or the tote, and you’ve got the option to bet on all the exotics like quinella and trifecta. An added bonus is that you can make ‘blended’ bets, which basically enable you to put multiple runners in a bet, meaning if you’re confident one of two or three will definitely win you can place a blended bet – obviously at reduced odds.

When it comes to sport, there doesn’t initially appear to be all that much in the way of markets. Certainly when you talk exclusively about how many sports they have, ChromaBet Australia has some room for improvement, with only nine different sports on offer at the time of writing.

But a deeper look reveals a really hefty selection. Take basketball, for example; not only are there odds for the big leagues like the NBA. There are markets from ten different leagues from around the world, from the NBA and EuroLeague through to the Brazilian NBB.

Obviously in those smaller leagues there are less markets, but in the NBA, as an example, there are a huge number. Take, for example, an upcoming game between the Hawks and Knicks – there are no less than 566 markets available for that game, ranging from the basics like moneyline and points total through to a great selection of player props.

Overall, ChromaBet has a pretty good selection of markets for a new betting site. They certainly could benefit from having more sports available, but within the sports that they do have there is a good selection of leagues, and then an excellent range of markets within the major leagues.

ChromaBet Live Betting

Live betting has become a really popular way to punt in recent years, enabling savvy bettors to capitalise on these rapidly changing markets after an event has already begun. But it is not yet all that widely available, and live betting sites are more often than not the bigger and older bookies.

ChromaBet unfortunately follows that trend. A new small betting site, they do not offer this to their users. That’s not to say that they never will, but for the time betting you will not be able to place live bets at ChromaBet.

ChromaBet App

Now to the ChromaBet app – actually hang on a minute, they don’t yet have one. Betting apps have obviously become extremely popular in recent years, with their streamlined design and fact that they enable punters to bet on the go making them, for many, a better alternative to the regular desktop site.

Even new betting sites usually have apps available pretty quickly – many have them ready to go from the moment they launch or soon after, while there have even been sites recently who have launched exclusively with mobile apps.

But unfortunately, at the time of writing ChromaBet does not have an app available. This will be a big cross against them for many punters, there is no doubting that, though there is at least the option to access their website on your mobile. This still functions reasonably well, but there is no denying that a mobile app would provide a more streamlined experience, so we will eagerly anticipate its presumably inevitable arrival.

ChromaBet Promotions

Basically every betting site has some promotions available for customers, though the quality and quantity of these can vary pretty significantly. Some provide genuinely advantageous offers regularly, while others only have a very select few promotions which are not even particularly good.

The promotions available with a particular bookmaker are ever-changing, though often you will find that more will become available when a big event is coming up, with the promos focused on particular markets for that event.

Though we can’t speak to the specific promotions available at ChromaBet due to both rules and regulations in Australia, and the fact that they are always changing, in general this new betting site does offer a pretty decent selection of them. Unfortunately Aussie laws dictate that they can’t offer a sign-up bonus, nor can you look at the promotions prior to having an account, but once you are signed up and logged in you will be able to peruse what is a pretty decent selection of promos.

ChromaBet Payment Methods

Now to the most thrilling part of any discussion about a new betting site – the payment methods! Okay maybe not so much, but still – before you sign up with a bookie, ideally you would like to know that you can deposit and withdraw using the payment methods you prefer.

While some betting sites offer an enormous number of different payment methods, the reality is that most punters don’t need all that much in this regard. You’ll obviously tend to just stick with the one method anyway, so if a betting site offers that then that should be all that you need. What’s more, if you’re anything like me, you’ll just stick to the basics – depositing with debit/credit card and withdrawing using bank transfer, which is pretty widely available.

Generally new betting sites don’t waste too much time developing a platform which enables punters to use every payment method under the sun, because realistically it’s not something which will bother most punters all that much. ChromaBet Australia is no different.

In fact, those aforementioned options that I just noted are my preferences are pretty much it as far as payment methods go with ChromaBet. You can use either Visa or Mastercard to deposit, so if you’d prefer to use an ewallet, ApplePay or something similar then you will need to look elsewhere. For most, however, Visa and Mastercard is a pretty straightforward option.

ChromaBet Customer Support

Now to customer support, another topic which is not exactly the most enthralling component of analysing a betting site but which is always handy to know. Generally, there are three different ways to contact a betting site – some offer all three, others offer just one or two.

ChromaBet falls into the latter category. The contact method which they do not currently have is a phone number that you can call, so if you’re somebody who likes to sort problems out verbally then this may be a cause of annoyance. There are, however, a couple of other options which should suffice for most punters.

The easiest, in my view, of these to use is the live chat function. This is easily accessible on the website. Simply click on the ‘Contact Us’ button which you can see in the bottom lefthand corner of the below screenshot; this will in turn bring up the three dots in a blue box on the bottom right of your screen. Click on this box to open up a live chat. This is available seven days a week and is generally a really quick and easy way to resolve most issues.

Of course, sometimes you just don’t have the time to sit around and have a conversation with a customer support agent, or you may have a particularly complex issue which requires some sort of documentation. If this applies to you, then you might be best served using ChromaBet’s other contact method; email. Using email allows you to send off your query or issue and then continue on your merry way with your day, and once you get a response you can respond in turn in your own time.

Overall, the ChromaBet customer support platform would benefit from the addition of a phone number just to round out the trio of options available with some bookies. For most, however, yours truly included, the existence of live chat seven days a week as well as the availability of an email will be more than enough to get any issues you may have sorted out.

FAQs About ChromaBet

Below, we take a look at some of the most commonly asked questions that we get about ChromaBet.

Who can use ChromaBet?

ChromaBet has the same terms of use as every other betting site in Australia. To use it, you need to fulfil two conditions; you need to be in Australia, and you need to be at least 18 years of age. If you tick those boxes, you’re in.

Can I live stream anything on ChromaBet?

Unfortunately, ChromaBet Australia does not offer live streaming of any sports or racing at this point in time. This is pretty standard for new betting sites, which generally do not have the funds to pay for the rights to broadcast these events.

How do I sign up with ChromaBet?

Signing up with ChromaBet is super easy, as it is with virtually every bookmaker. Simply head to the ChromaBet website and locate the ‘Sign Up’ button in the top right-hand corner of the page. From there, it’s simply a matter of filling in some basic details and account information.

Is ChromaBet better for sports or racing?

It really depends on what it is that you’re looking for, but on the whole I would say that the sports side of the ChromaBet website is better. A race is a race and most bookies will offer much the same markets, so when comparing sites for racing it really just comes down to odds, and the racing odds at ChromaBet are far from the best.

In contrast, though they do not have that many sports available, within the sports that they do offer ChromaBet has a whole lot of different leagues on offer, and a massive range of markets for the biggest ones. Their odds are decent enough, with their props range particularly impressive for a new bookmaker.

Can I use ChromaBet on mobile even though there is no ChromaBet app?

You can. Though ChromaBet does not yet have an actual mobile app, there is no reason that you cannot still access this betting site on your mobile. All that you need to do is head to the standard site on Safari or whatever browsing platform you use, and you’ll be able to do everything that you can do on the desktop version of the site. Overall, the mobile site is pretty functional and easy to use, so while an app would be a valuable addition, it’s not as though there are no options on mobile.

Conclusion & Final Thoughts

Overall, ChromaBet is a relatively standard new betting site, though it does have some positive aspects that make it worth checking out, particularly for some punters. If you’re into prop betting, for example, then there is plenty of reason to take a look at ChromaBet, with their wide range of player props and competitive odds for them a standout. There are, of course, areas where they could improve, not least in the development of a mobile app, but overall this is a pretty sound new betting site.
