Round 14 is in the books and it was another exciting round! We had 2 games that were decided by one point, with the Tigers almost making one of the best comebacks in NRL history. The round was packed full of injuries to star players, notably Nathan Cleary who will now miss Origin 2. Titans vs Tigers
Kicking off the round we have the Titans hosting the Tigers. The Titans are coming off a high scoring loss to the Rabbitohs while the Tigers are coming off a brutal 1-point loss to the Raiders after falling short of one of the greatest comebacks in NRL history. The Titans have now lost 3 games in a row but will be looking towards this fixture knowing it is a winnable one, taking the last 5 encounters vs the Titans.
While the Titans do have a big out in David Fifita, they are welcoming back AJ Brimson who is always electric in attack. I think the Titans are the slightly better outfit despite losing David Fifita, but I am expecting it to be a close one.

Raiders vs Warriors
Our first game on Friday night sees the Raiders hosting the Warriors. The Raiders are coming off a 1-point win away at the Tigers after almost blowing an 18-0 lead with 12 minutes to go, while the Warriors are coming off an excellent 30-8-point win against the Dolphins at home. While the Warriors were great last week, they have historically been far better when playing in New Zealand. The Raiders on the other hand were great for 68 minutes of the game, with Fogarty having a masterclass but a sinbin from Starling changed the tides, and they were missing multiple starting players.
The Raiders will welcome back Elliot Whitehead, Jarrod Croker and Sebastian Kris, all valuable injections into the side. It is Jarrod Croker’s 300th game for the club and I am expecting them to turn up for such a big occasion at home.

Sea Eagles vs Dolphins
Our second game on Friday night sees the Sea Eagles hosting the Dolphins. Manly should be coming into this game well rested from the bye while the Dolphins will be looking to make a statement after losing by 22 points to the Warriors. Tom Trbojevic is set to make an early return from a concussion in State of Origin, with manly receiving an exemption for him to play. The Dolphins are down a lot of troops this week, losing Jarrod Wallace last week, adding to their extensive forward outs including Kaufusi and Gilbert.
This Dolphins side has shown they have a lot of fight and can compete, but I think an almost fully fit Manly side should be too good for them considering their injuries. The Dolphins score and concede around 23 points per game, and once again I see this being a high scoring encounter.

Dragons vs Rabbitohs
Kicking off Super Saturday we have the Dragons hosting the Rabbitohs. The Dragons fought well but lost to Panthers by 8-points, failing to capitalize on Cleary’s absence while the Rabbitohs won 46-28 against the Titans. The Dragons sit on the bottom of the ladder, winning just 3 of 13 games while the Rabbitohs sit in 3rd with 9 wins from 14.
The Rabbitohs do have big injuries with Latrell Mitchell, Jai Arrow and Cameron Murray all out. While these are big injuries, they showed last week just how capable they are of playing with Taaffe, helping them get to a grand final in 2021. The Rabbitohs forward pack will be weakened but I have to back a team playing the way they are on the back of Cody Walker, who is now trying to claim a spot in Origin.

Broncos vs Knights
Our second game on Saturday sees the Broncos hosting the Knights. The Broncos are coming off an incredible performance against the Sharks, defending their line for sets on end to win 20-12 away. The Knights are coming off a bye, but their previous game was an impressive outing against Manly, winning by 10-points.
Both sides are at full fitness this week. While the Broncos are undoubtedly the better side, I think the Knights will benefit immensely from moving Ponga to fullback. He looked greatly improved at fullback and I think this Knights side will make the Broncos work hard for this win.

Roosters vs Panthers
Our final game on Saturday sees the Roosters hosting the Panthers. The Roosters are coming off another mediocre performance, edging the Bulldogs by 1 point, while the Panthers battled through a Cleary injury to beat the Dragons. The Roosters sit at a 5-5 record just outside the top 8 and will see this as a crucial game at home, while the Panthers sit on top spot.
While the Roosters have been underwhelming and the Panthers great, I think this will be a totally different Panthers outfit. Nathan Cleary is one of the best players in the comp and he will be missed, he controls their attack as well as their long kicking game. In front of a home crowd, with James Tedesco seeming to find his form, I think the Roosters will put up a good fight in a low scoring affair.

Storm vs Sharks
Our only game on Sunday sees the Storm hosting the Sharks. Both sides are coming off a week to forget, with the Sharks losing by 8-points at home to the Broncos while the Storm lost by 25 points to the 14th place Cowboys. This is an important game for both sides as the winner will be in the top 4.
While they both sit on 7 wins from their 12 games, I think the Sharks have looked to be the better side this year. They have scored 61 more points and conceded 20 less, showing they are unlucky to be on the same points as the Storm. This one should be an extremely close affair at AAMI Park but with no Justin Olam for the Storm, I think the Sharks will find success down their right edge, and can see them taking this one.

Our final game sees the Bulldogs hosting the Eels. The Bulldogs will be devastated after losing by 1-point to the Roosters while the Eels will be well rested after their bye. The Bulldogs are sitting 15th on the ladder while the Eels are 12th. The Eels are a side that should be making the top 8 and they’ll know that they need to start getting some wins on the board in order to do so. The big news is that Dylan Brown has been named to play, but we will have to wait until later to know if this for sure. The Eels will also be welcoming back Campbell-Gillard from injury, a big addition to their pack.
While the Eels haven’t been great this season, there is no doubt they are the far better outfit here and I think they will be desperate for a win here. I see the Eels winning this one.
