Round 12 is in the books and what a crazy round it was! The Tigers put up a whopping 66 points against the Cowboys at Leichardt while the Sea Eagles upset the Raiders thanks to a Tom Trbojevic masterclass right before Origin. Now onto Round 13, a shortened round with just 5 games due to Origin. Stay tuned as we dive into each and every game, finding value across all.

Dolphins vs Dragons
Kicking off our first major bye round of the season, we have the Dolphins hosting the Dragons. These sides have already faced each other this season, with the Dragons winning 38-12. The Dragons are coming off a heroic last second win against the Roosters, one of the moments of the season, while the Dolphins were beaten comfortably by the Storm.
The Dolphins will be without fullback Tabuai-Fidow and Gilbert as they have been called up to play for Queensland as well as Felise Kaufusi due to suspension, while the Dragons will be without their star man, Ben Hunt due to Origin, as well as Jack Bird and Blake Lawrie due to injury. The Dolphins will have a far easier time replacing their stars, with Isaako or Niu slotting into fullback while Jarrod Wallace is hopefully returning from an injury, whereas for the Dragons, Ben Hunt really is everything. He organizes their attack and controls the game and I think they’ll look like a completely different footy side without him.
Bookmaker | Daniel’s Tip | Odds |
Dolphins to win the First Half | $1.70
Dolphins -5.5 | $1.87 | |
Halftime/Fulltime Double – Dolphins/Dolphins | $2.05 |

Eels vs Cowboys
We only have one game this Friday and it sees the Eels hosting the Cowboys. These 2 sides couldn’t have had more contrasting weeks, with the Eels upsetting the competition leader, the Rabbitohs, while the Cowboys got demolished 66-16 by the last place (at the time) Tigers. Both sides are going to be down heavily on troops, with the Cowboys missing Holmes, Taulagi, Cotter and Dearden to Origin while the Eels are missing Junior Paulo to Origin as well as Matterson to a calf injury.
While both sides are extremely depleted, the Cowboys are missing the majority of their firepower while the Eels still have key men Moses, Gutherson and Brown. The Eels forward pack is no doubt depleted and likely the weaker pack, but I think their halves should get them across the line. The bookies have a big line here and if the Cowboys do welcome back Taumalolo, I think they should cover but I don’t see them winning.
Bookmaker | Daniel’s Tip | Odds |
Cowboys +1.5 First half | $3.10
Cowboys +15.5 | $1.87 | |
Under 45.5 | $1.91 |

Luciano Leilua 13. Jason Taumalolo 14. Jake Granville 15. Jack Gosiewski 16. Mitchell Dunn 17. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki
Warriors vs Broncos
Our first game on Saturday sees the Warriors hosting the Broncos. The Broncos are coming off a tough loss to the Panthers, whereas the Warriors will be well rested after the bye. Teams coming off the bye are an impressive 7-4 this year. The Warriors being from New Zealand are always strong through the bye period, not losing anyone to Origin this year. On the other hand, the Broncos are the victims of their own success, losing Walsh, Flegler, Haas, Carrigan and Cobbo to Origin.
The Warriors hold a 3-1 record when playing in New Zealand this year and I think they will be the far stronger side on paper here. I don’t see this going any other way except for a comfortable Warriors win.
Bookmaker | Daniel’s Tip | Odds |
Halftime/Fulltime Double – Warriors/Warriors | $1.95
Warriors -7.5 | $1.82 | |
Warriors to win both halves | $2.65 |
Predicted Squads
Warriors: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Rocco Berry 4. Adam Pompey 5. Marcelo Montoya 6. Ronald Volkman 7. Shaun Johnson 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Wayde Egan 10. Jordan Riki 13. Kobe Hetherington 14. Cory Paix 15. Keenan Palasia 16. Brendan Piakura 17. Logan Bayliss
Rabbitohs vs Raiders
Our second game of Super Saturday sees the Rabbitohs host the Raiders. Both sides will be looking to bounce back after the Rabbitohs lost by 20 points to the Eels while the Raiders lost by 28 points to the Sea Eagles, both as favourites. The Rabbitohs will be without Latrell Mitchell, Cameron Murray and Jai Arrow due to Origin as well as potentially Campbell-Graham due to a sternum injury. The Raiders will only be without Hudson Young who is making his Origin debut.
This Souths side has been awesome to watch, but so much of the credit is due to Latrell Mitchell and Campbell-Graham amongst others. I think they are a completely different side this week, weakened across all areas of the pitch, while the Raiders are almost at full strength. I think there is great value on the Raiders to win this week.
Bookmaker | Daniel’s Tip | Odds |
Halftime/Fulltime Double – Raiders/Raiders | $2.60
Raiders to win | $1.76 | |
Raiders 13+ | $3.75 |
Predicted Squads
Rabbitohs: 1. Blake Taaffe 2. Alex Johnston 3. Isaiah Tass 4. Josiah Karapani 5. Taane Milne 6. Cody Walker 7. Lachlan Ilias 8. Tevita Tatola 9. Damien Cook 10. Thomas Burgess 11. Raiders: 1. Sebastian Kris 2. Albert Hopoate 3. Jared Croker 4. Matthew Timoko 5. Jordan Rapana 6. Jack Wighton 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Josh Papalii 9. Danny Levi 10. Joseph Tapine 11. Corey Harawira-Naera 12. Elliott Whitehead 13. Corey Horsburgh 14. Tom Starling 15. Emre Guler 16. Pasami Saulo 17. Ata Mariota
Knights vs Sea Eagles
In our final game of the round, the Knights host the Sea Eagles. These sides met earlier in the season in Round 5, in what was arguably the game of the season, ending in a 32-32 draw. Both sides will look a little different this week, with the Knights losing Frizell to Origin while the Sea Eagles lose star men Tom Trbojevic and Cherry-Evans.
While fully fit the Sea Eagles are the better side on paper here, they are losing the heart and soul of their team. DCE organizes them in attack and controls the game, while Tom usually tears defenses apart. The Knights on the other hand are reportedly dropping Lachlan Miller, shifting Ponga to fullback and Gamble to five-eighth. Miller has been poor the past few weeks and we all know how electric Ponga is at his best, which he has been close to since returning from his head knock. I think the Knights will take advantage of a depleted Sea Eagles side on Sunday afternoon.
Bookmaker | Daniel’s Tip | Odds |
Manly to score 3+ tries - No | $2.60
Knights -8.5 | $1.87 | |
Knights to win | $1.40 |
