The NRL season is heating up. This week the Sharks will be looking to continue their fine form against a weakened Bulldogs side, the Knights will look to bounce back from a brutal golden point defeat and the Sea Eagles will be looking to keep the Tigers undefeated. Some very exciting games this Anzac Round, with particularly good value across these 3 games.
NRL Best Tips and Multi Bet of the Weekend | Round 8
Canterbury Bulldogs vs Cronulla Sharks
April 22nd, 17:30, Accor Staduim
The Bulldogs are hosting the Sharks for our Super Saturday opener. The Bulldogs are struggling with a lack of depth currently, missing their starting wingers, start second rower Viliame Kikau, among a heap of other forwards. The Sharks are starting to find their feet, picking up an impressive win against the Roosters last week.
The Sharks edge attack is looking phenomenal with Nicho Hynes and William Kennedy setting up tries for fun, helped out by 2 of the best finishers in the comp in Ronaldo Mulitalo and Sione Katoa. This threat on the edge combined with the Bulldogs wingers being made up of a center and a player with 3 games of first grade experience, I think the Sharks should terrorize them out wide. For this reason, I am taking the Sharks halftime/fulltime on PlayUp @1.45.
North Queensland Cowboys vs Newcastle Knights
April 22nd, 19:35, Queensland Country Bank Stadium
The Cowboys host the Knights this Saturday and while both sides are coming off losses, their performances could not have been any different. The Cows were abysmal in attack against the Warriors and were weak in defense while the Knights put in an immense performance, unlucky to fall short to the back-to-back reigning premiers in golden point.
This week is an exciting one for the Knights, welcoming back marquee man Kalyn Ponga from a concussion that has kept him out of action since round 3. Ponga is a left side dominant player and has an awesome bullet pass out wide. This left edge potency of Ponga and the powerful Marzhew combined with the fact that the Cowboys concede a whopping 46% of tries on the right edge, has led me to take Greg Marzhew anytime on Bet365 @2.15
Wests Tigers Manly vs Sea Eagles
April 23rd, 16:05, Campbelltown Sports Stadium
Closing out our Sunday Ticket we have the Tigers hosting the Sea Eagles. The Tigers remain winless after playing 6 games and cannot seem to find the right combination of players. To add insult to injury they have lost Adam Doueihi to a knee injury and have brought in a debutant in Bula to replace him. On the flipside, Manly are in hot form, beating the Storm last week and are welcoming back Reuben Garrick back to their side this week.
Manly are the far superior side, playing a day game with dry forecasts, making me think there should be lots of points on offer here. Manly’s left side is their dominant side, scoring 39% of tries there, now having Josh Schuster returning and against a historically weak defensive edge for the Tigers. For these reasons I am taking Reuben Garrick anytime on TopSport @1.82.
