The NRL season is heating up. This week the Cowboys look for revenge against the Warriors after a slow start to the season, the mighty Panthers face the Knights with both in hot form and the Raiders will be looking to back up their impressive win against Brisbane, facing a hungry Dragons side. Three exciting games with value sprinkled across all of them.
NRL Best Tips and Multi Bet of the Weekend | Round 7
New Zealand Warriors vs North Queensland Cowboys
April 15th, 15:00, Mt Smart Stadium
Here we have a round 3 rematch, in which the Warriors surprised the Cowboys with a 14-point victory. The Warriors are now at home where they remain undefeated this season, but they no longer have the underdog status. While the Warriors are firing and the Cowboys have been struggling, sitting at 15th on the table, their fortune may be about to change.
The Cowboys have a major boost to their side, with their 2 top try scorers from last year returning this week in Murray Taulagi and Jeremiah Nanai. On the flip side, the Warriors have lost their Egan and Te Maire Martin. I still do think the Cowboys are the better side and are bound to find their form sooner rather than later. The bookies have this one at almost even odds, giving some value on the Cowboys side. I will play this one relatively safe by taking the Cowboys +6.5 @1.50 on Bet365
Newcastle Knights vs Penrith Panthers
April 15th, 17:30, McDonald Jones Stadium
The high-flying Knights host the Panthers in our second game of Super Saturday. The Knights have been in top form, beating the Warriors at home last week after earning a great draw against Manly and securing a big win against the Raiders in previous weeks. However, Penrith are well and truly back to their regular selves, looking like the title contender once again.
While the Knights have been far better than expected after losing Kalyn Ponga, they have now also lost their skipper Jayden Brailey who offers them great leadership and direction on field. While Penrith are missing Fisher Harris and Martin, they are more than capable of filling the voids left by them and should remind everyone why they are the top dog and Newcastle were picked by most to miss the top 8. I am taking Penrith halftime/fulltime double on @1.42 on Playup.
Canberra Raiders vs St George Illawarra Dragons
April 16th, 14:00, GIO Stadium
The Raiders will be on Cloud Nine after a classic Ricky Stewart ambush last week, defeating the prior undefeated Broncos at Suncorp. While this was a mighty impressive feat, even more so due to the fact they did it without star men Jack Wighton and Joseph Tapine, I do think they have a tough matchup against the Dragons.
Despite the Raiders win, they have been poor this season, winning only 2 of 6 games this season. Historically this has been an extremely tight affair, with 3 of the last 4 matches being decided by 2 points or less. Both sides will know this is a winnable and extremely important game, and I expect to see a close matchup. I think the market has overreacted to the Raiders win last week as well as the Dragons loss, but due to their historic inconsistency, I am taking the Dragons with a 12-point head start @1.46 on TopSport
