Round 14 is over and it was another week packed with exciting games! We fell short of our multi, with the Sharks and Storm both not performing. We are back this week with MyBettingAustralia’s NRL Multi of the week and we have found some value across Betting Sites on the Rabbitohs, the Roosters and the Sharks.
NRL Best Tips and Multi Bet of the Weekend | Round 15
St George Illawarra Dragons vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
June 10th, 15:00, Nestrata Jubilee Stadium
For our first leg of the multi of the week, we look to the Dragons hosting the Rabbitohs on Saturday. The Dragons have lost 8 of their past 9 games and sit on bottom of the ladder, while the Rabbitohs have won 7 of their last 9 games and sit in 3rd place. Historically this has been a fixture dominated by the Rabbitohs, winning 9 of the last 10 encounters between these 2 sides.
While the Rabbitohs do have key injuries to Latrell Mitchell, Jai Arrow and Cameron Murray, they do have cover across the park, notably at fullback with Blake Taaffe coming in. Although he has only played 30 career games, he has shown his talent, helping Souths reach a grand final in 2021. The Dragons are without key forward Jack De Belin, who suffered a nasty head knock. Despite Souths injuries I think they will be too strong on the back of Cody Walker who is in excellent form, assisting 18 tries and scoring 8 in his last 11 games. I am taking the Rabbitohs to win @1.42 on BoomBet.
Sydney Roosters vs Penrith Panthers
June 10th, 19:35, Allianz Stadium
For our second leg of the multi of the week, we see the Roosters hosting the Panthers. The struggling Roosters picked up a vital 1-point win last week against the Bulldogs moving them up to 9th spot, while the Panthers edged the Dragons by 8 points and sit on top of the ladder. The Panthers have lost their star man Nathan Cleary to a hamstring injury and will have Jack Cogger replace him. Cleary is instrumental to Penrith, leading them in attack and taking almost all of their long kicks, possessing one of the best kicking games in the competition. In previous years with Cleary out, the Panthers have done quite well, however, this was with a more experienced replacement halfback Sean O’Sullivan as well as Api Korisau steering them around the park.
The Roosters will see this fixture as a very winnable one without Cleary and sitting just one win off the top 4, I expect them to rise to the occasion. James Tedesco is the key to the Roosters success, finding his form last week, racking up 2 tries and 2 try assists in an inspiring performance. 4 of the last 6 meetings between these 2 sides have been decided by 8 points or less and that’s why I am taking the Roosters +12.5 @1.40 on Bet365.
Melbourne Storm vs Cronulla Sharks
June 11th, 16:05, AAMI Park
For our final leg of the multi we see the Storm hosting the Sharks in a battle for a top 4 spot. Both these teams are coming off disappointing performances, with the Sharks losing to the Broncos at home, while the Storm got embarrassed by the Cowboys in Townsville. Both teams sit on 7 wins from 12 games but despite this, I would say the Sharks have played far better than the Storm. The Sharks have scored 311 points this season, 61 more than Melbourne while also conceding 20 points less. They play a far more expansive style of footy, shifting the ball often and creating a lot of linebreaks.
I think this expansive footy is going to be a problem for Melbourne’s defense, particularly their left edge who is welcoming Grant Anderson into the side replacing Justin Olam, one of the best centers in the competition. Nicho Hynes will be looking to have a big game right before Origin, to claim that number 7 jersey that is up for grabs now due to Cleary’s injury and I think he will rise to the occasion. I am going to play it safe and take the Sharks +12.5 @1.38 on TopSport.
