Novak Djokovic now comfortably stands alone as the most successful men’s tennis player in history and his presence in any draw attracts the attention of all punters and international betting sites

However, 2024 has been a relatively quiet year for Djokovic and he has decided to reshuffle the pack ahead of the European summer.

Any player that has won 24 Grand Slam singles titles clearly has a winning formula and Novak Djokovic has managed to balance the weight of expectation perfectly over the best part of the last 15 years.

The Serb has reigned supreme over men’s tennis for large periods and his dominance at the top of the game is showing no sign of slowing.

However, some indifferent results at the start of 2024 have been very uncharacteristic and consequently. Djokovic has looked to make changes in his coaching staff, with Goran Ivanisevic relieved of his duties.

Goran the Great

In the 1990’s and 2000’s, very few men’s tennis players transcended the sport in the way that Goran Ivanisevic did, with the Croat adept at making headlines both on and off the court.

His lived experiences made him one of the most talked about athletes on the planet and his Wimbledon triumph as a wild card back in 2001, etched his name into tennis folklore.

That knowledge and knowhow was clearly a huge help to Novak Djokovic, who added his Balkan brother to his team in 2018 and he has piled the Grand Slam titles on ever since.

A blip or serious problems?

Such is the surprise that resonates with punters and betting sites when Novak Djokovic loses a match, that the gossip columns instantly fill if he is not hitting his highest level.

A departure in the semi-finals of the Australian Open to eventual winner Jannik Sinner was somewhat of a shock, whilst his defeat to qualifier Luca Nardi at Indian Wells was a real eye-opener.

Those are the only two tournaments Djokovic has played in 2024 and with the French Open and Wimbledon on the horizon, he has decided to make key changes now.

Can Djokovic salvage something in 2024?

Having won 24 Grand Slam titles already, Novak Djokovic is fully aware that he doesn’t need to panic just yet in the calendar year.

Both the French Open and Wimbledon provide chances for more major glory, with Rafael Nadal a doubt at Roland Garros and Djokovic sure to want to regain his Wimbledon title from Carlos Alcaraz.

Elsewhere, there is the small matter of an Olympic gold to chase, something that has eluded him so far in his career, as well as the US Open and his world number one ranking and writing off Novak Djokovic is never the wisest thing to do.

Any time that Novak Djokovic doesn’t win a tennis match, headlines are made and his lack of form in 2024 has led to question marks.

Djokovic has opted to move Goran Ivanisevic on from his coaching team and with a busy summer of major tournaments ahead, punters and betting sites can write Djokovic off at their peril.
