News Insights

  • World number one Scottie Scheffler cruised to victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
  • It was his first tournament victory in 12 months, since the 2023 Players Championship.
  • Scheffler last won the Arnold Palmer back in 2022 and won in 2024 by 5 shots.
  • Wyndham Clark finished second, whilst Irishman Shane Lowry came home in 3rd.

Scottie Scheffler has long been the man to beat on the PGA Tour in the eyes of many domestic and international betting sites and he roared back to form with a dominant display at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

With 4 majors lined up in the next 4 months, Scheffler has an ominous look to him, as he chases yet more titles.

World number one Scottie Scheffler has been the dominant force in American golf for the past couple of seasons and with Jon Rahm defecting to the LIV Golf Series, Scheffler’s place at the top of the rankings has been cemented even more.

Scheffler has been remarkably without a tournament win over the past 12 months, as his last win came at the 2023 Player’s Championship and he did look at times, to be struggling for form.

However, as ever with any top-level player, form is temporary, class is permanent and Scheffler blitzed the field to clinch his second Arnold Palmer Invitational title.

Scottie in the slot

When Scottie Scheffler is hot, nobody has been able to stop him on the PGA Tour for the past few seasons and that rang true once again in Florida.

He had been perched on the edge of the leading pack through the first 3 days, before making his move emphatically, shooting a final day 66, to lift his second title at Bay Hill.

Finishing -15 at one of the toughest courses around will be a huge confidence booster for Scheffler, who will have his eyes on the Masters next month.

Clark keeps ticking along

Whilst the performances of Scottie Scheffler continue to catch the eye with many punters and online betting sites, not least because of the upcoming majors, US Open champion Wyndham Clark snuck under the radar once more.

Ultimately, Scottie Scheffler was too good when the chips were down for Clark, but he has now established himself as one of the best in the business and he continues to pick up good finishes, in big events.

With a solid Ryder Cup under his belt too, Wyndham Clark will be desperate to kick on in 2024 and he will be aiming to clinch the second major title of his fledgling career.

Lowry in the mix

Shane Lowry’s playing style often gets lauded over, with the Irishman’s relaxed approach winning him fans from all 4 corners of the globe.

Ending 8 shots behind Scheffler doesn’t tell the full story for Lowry, who was hugely impressive for long periods in Florida, and he too looks to be close to rekindling his best form.

Quieter weeks were endured by a few of the big names, with Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth only just making the cut and they will want to return refreshed for the bigger challenges ahead.

Scottie Scheffler has been a pillar at the top of the PGA Tour for a few seasons and he picked up another big win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill on Sunday.

With big tournaments on the horizon, Scheffler looks to be finding form and he will be on to watch again this season with many punters and online betting sites
