The presence of Tiger Woods in any golf tournament gets the juices flowing like nothing else for golf fans and Woods has been granted an exemption to the 2024 US Open. 

Held at Pinehurst in North Carolina, the US Open remains one of the flagship events of the golfing year and all eyes will be on Tiger Woods as he seeks major glory once more. 

The 2024 US Open promises to be a hugely intriguing tournament, with the backdrop of the PGA and LIV Golf Series debate rumbling on. 
 
Another layer of intrigue has been added to the event though as 15-time major winner Tiger Woods has been granted an exemption – to a tournament he has a special relationship with. 

Woods has won the US Open on three previous occasions and what a sporting story it would be if he could upset the odds once more and win a 16th major tournament at Pinehurst.

Now aged 48, the 2024 US Open was set to be the first major event since 1996 where Tiger Woods wasn’t set to qualify on merit. 
 
Woods has endured an array of injury issues over the past couple of decades and his loss of form in recent times has been tough to watch for all Woods fans. 
 
Aside from his incredible Masters win in 2019, Tiger Woods has struggled for form and consistency in the big events and his world ranking has dropped to 789 as a result.

Tiger Woods is however the most recognizable face in the world of golf still, despite his relative troubles in recent times and just his presence in the 2024 US Open adds a sense of gravitas to the event. 
 
Woods will not be amongst the favourites to lift the title at Pinehurst, but he is never completely discarded by any punters or golf betting sites.
