Can Novak Djokovic turn his 2024 around?

24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is always box office wherever he goes in the world of tennis and his movements are closely tracked by both punters and international betting sites. 

However, Djokovic has endured a tough start to the campaign, and he is searching for form, with a busy period ahead.

The standards by which Novak Djokovic is measured against are very different to most other tennis players but his trail blazing approach at the top of the game has been the standard bearer for over a decade. 
 
With 24 Grand Slam titles in the bag, two of which coming in 2023, nobody foresaw any sort of drop off in form from the Serbian great. 
 
On and off court issues have plagued his 2024 so far though and Djokovic will be desperate to get back on track, with some huge events on the agenda. 
 
Much ado about nothing? 

For all the headlines Djokovic has made in 2024, for his lack of tournament wins, the fact remains that he has only lost 3 matches in the calendar year. 
 
His Australian Open exit to eventual winner Jannik Sinner did have a changing of the guard feeling to it, but Djokovic had looked imperious until the semi-finals. 
 
Losing to qualifier Luca Nardi at Indian Wells raised a fair few eyebrows but his latest loss to Casper Ruud in Monte Carlo was to another top 10 player and it came at the semi-final stage. 
 
Djokovic has been written off plenty of times throughout his stellar career and he won’t be panicking yet. 
 
Coach for hire 

The relative quandary surrounding the dip in results by Novak Djokovic remains unanswered, but the Serb is looking for somebody to fill the Goran Ivanisevic void. 
 
Speculation reigned about an appearance from Roger Federer in Djokovic’s coaching box online recently, but it hasn’t gathered too much momentum with punters or tennis betting sites. 
 
Whether Djokovic needs guidance is a whole different question but having a coach on board that understands him, could give him the extra 5% in big games. 
 
Huge summer ahead 

Novak Djokovic has been around the block too many times to panic over a few bad results and he knows that the middle of the calendar year is when the big action happens. 
 
A French Open defence at Roland Garros will be his first port of call, especially with Rafael Nadal not expected to be in action. 
 
Carlos Alcaraz has his Wimbledon title, something Djokovic wants back as quickly as possible, whilst he also has the US Open title in New York to defend. 

It has been a curious start to 2024 for Novak Djokovic, who will be desperate to turn the tide with Grand Slam season approaching. 
 
The Serb always comes good when it matters most and he will need to roll up his sleeves for a big few months ahead, at the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
