  • Enzo Maresca’s side got the job done with one two games to spare.

  • Leicester will be looking to consolidate in the EPL next season.

The steady fall from grace for Leicester City from EPL champions in 2016, to playing in the Championship in 2023 looks to have been halted.

Following a tough season in the second tier, Leicester have now secured promotion and will once again be playing Premier League football next season.

Few stories in world football resonate and transcend in the way that Leicester City’s Premier League title triumph did back in 2016.

Led by the charismatic Claudio Ranieri, Leicester blew away all before them, to lift the Premier League trophy and etch their way into footballing folklore.

An FA Cup in 2021 backed that up but Leicester’s steady decline hit rock bottom in 2023, as they were relegated to the Championship.

However, Enzo Maresca has done a stellar job in guiding his troops and the Foxes are now back in the Premier League big time and they are being backed to go well already next season with many punters and betting sites

Courage in the Championship

With 46 games in a season, the Championship is often referred too as one of the toughest leagues in the world, and so it proved for Leicester.

The Foxes lost 10 games in a topsy turvy campaign but have managed 30 wins in that timescale too and they now have an unassailable lead over Ipswich Town and Leeds United in the race for promotion.

They will be looking to secure the Championship title in their next two games against Preston and Blackburn, before resting up over the summer, with the Premier League on the horizon.

Magic Maresca

Any coach that has cut their teeth under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola tends to have a strong footballing ideology and Enzo Maresca has been able to impart that on Leicester City this season.

Getting the best out of club stalwarts such as Jamie Vardy, Wilfried Ndidi and Marc Albrighton, as well as integrating new and exciting talent, has enabled Maresca to concoct the perfect combination.

Premier League experience lies within their squad too, with Harry Winks, Conor Coady and Jan Bednarek all having enjoyed long periods in the top flight and they look well equipped to kick on next season.

Another Leicester fairytale?

Whilst it seems inconceivable that Leicester could challenge for European football next season, the Foxes have proven before that anything is possible.

Under Maresca, the Foxes will be looking to secure their Premier League status primarily next term, something they are being backed to do comfortably with many punters and football betting sites.

Beyond that though, who knows how far Leicester City can go, as they look to reassert themselves as a Premier League side.

Gaining promotion from the Championship to the Premier League is always a huge achievement and Leicester City have navigated those tricky waters this term.

Enzo Maresca’s side now have a summer to rest and recruit, before making an assault on the Premier League once again in 2024/25.
