News Insights

  • 2024 Six Nations gets underway as France play Ireland on February 2nd, 2024.
  • Ireland are the defending champions, after winning the Grand Slam in 2023.
  • France, England, and Wales lead the sides looking to catch them.
  • Scotland and Italy will also be looking to have their say too.

In the world of rugby union, very few competitions get punters moving with domestic and international betting sites in the way that the Six Nations does.

Pitting the six biggest sides in European rugby against each other, in a two month contest, is compelling viewing and it is sure to be unmissable again in 2024.

Irresistible Ireland

The paradox of Ireland in Rugby World Cups reared its head once more in the Autumn of 2023, as an underwhelming tournament ended in defeat to New Zealand in the last 8.

However, when it comes to Northern Hemisphere rugby, very few sides can compete with Ireland, and they are the hot favourites to lift the Six Nations again with many online betting sites

Coach Andy Farrell won’t be able to call upon his former captain Johnny Sexton, who has now retired, making it a period of change within the Irish camp but they remain the team to beat in the 2024 Six Nations.

Frenetic French

In a similar vein, the curse of the Rugby World Cup struck France too, as they found South Africa too hot to handle in the last 8 and they will want a response in the Six Nations.

Grand Slam winners themselves in 2022, the French brand of rugby is always fascinating viewing and anything is possible when Les Blues take to the field.

Key man Antoine Dupont will miss out through injury, but France look to have plenty of deputies waiting in the wings, ready to make their mark on the international stage.

New pretenders to the throne?

Whilst they are hardly new pretenders, the likes of England, Scotland, and Wales will all believe they can cause a stir with Six Nations experts and betting apps and force their way into contention.

All three sides are going through periods of transition, with new captains for each of them and it promises to be a fascinating few weeks of European rugby action.

Italy meanwhile are the perennial underdogs in the Six Nations, but their domestic rugby scene is improving hugely, and they will be confident of being able to spring a surprise or two in the 2024 Six Nations.

No rugby tournament outside of the World Cup creates as much traction with punters and online betting sites as the Six Nations does and it gets underway again in 2024.

Ireland and France are the favourites for glory but with England, Italy, Scotland, and Wales in the mix too, it will be a superb month or so of high octane European rugby.
