Ascot takes centre stage to open up 2024.

With the Christmas and New Year festivities over, the Australian racing calendar moves on apace with all online bookmakers

Ascot plays host on Saturday 6th January 2024, with 9 races on an excellent card and there is a whole host of betting opportunities out there.

Race 1: London’s Image

Punters and Aussie bookmakers will have their eyes peeled for the opener here at Ascot, with the Magic Millions plate kicking off an exciting card.

Only 6 horses line up for this one, an enthralling contest for 2-year-olds and with such inexperience in the field, it does look to be a very open race.

Topping the betting here is London’s Image, a horse that has performed well in both career outings here at Ascot previously and who looks to have a bright future ahead of it.

There are plenty who could challenge in this one, with lots of untested picks but London’s Image looks to be the pick of the bunch.

Tip: London’s Image to win the race @ $2.15 (TopSport)

Race 8: Starry Heights

The Easingwold Stakes is the penultimate offering from Ascot on Saturday and there is a whole host of interesting horses in contention.

With $100,000 up for grabs, the pace for this one should be frenetic and Starry Heights looks to be the one with the most in the tank.

A horse that has won its last 6 career outings, including winning at Ascot in its last two spins, Starry Heights will seriously take some beating here.

Tip: Starry Heights to win the race @ $2.20 (GetSetBet)

Race 9: Devine Belief

Concluding this super card at Ascot is the Bisley Workwear Handicap and once again, there are some super picks in the running.

Topping the betting is Devine Belief, a horse that won very well last time out here at Ascot and who looks to be coming of age.

Harmika and Ain’t No Other Man all make claims here but if Devine Belief gets a strong run here, it should come out on top.

Tip: Devine Belief to win the race @ $1.55 (Bet365)
