Tuvalu continues to put wins on the card

The unforgiving nature of the Australian horse racing calendar sees some of the best rides in the country having to chase wins up and down the land. 

Group 1 winner Tuvalu continually rises to that challenge however and its impressive win in Warrnambool has been noted by many racing punters and online betting sites. 

Having gone over 12 months without a race win, and with plenty of near misses, punters and connections would be forgiven for having lost a little faith in Tuvalu.

Ultimately, whilst the thrill of racing is what appeals to owners, trainers, punters and online betting sites, not bagging a win for a while is always a tough pill to swallow. 
 
Being paired with some of the most exciting horses in Australia, Tuvalu has run plenty of them close but hadn’t picked up a race win prior to this since a trial triumph at Geelong in January 2023. 
 
To come back and show serious guts and resolve to win in a race such as this at Warrnambool is a glowing show of resilience by both Tuvalu and its connections. 
 
Big races ahead 

Such is the status that the Wangoom Handicap holds within Australian racing these days that the winner of the contest can go on to bigger and better challenges. 
 
By virtue of its win here at Warrnambool, Tuvalu has booked a place at the Queensland Winter Carnival, where it will look to build on the impressive haul of A$2 million in career prize money with many Australian horse racing betting apps. 
 
Inevitably, this step up in quality will provide a sterner challenge for Tuvalu but on this showing here in the Wangoom Handicap, nothing is impossible for the Lindsey Smith flyer.
