Any horse that is consistently winning horse races always gets punters and online betting in a bit of a tizz but the emergence of Storm Boy has been the key story in Australian horse racing in 2024.

Storm Boy has won all three of his career outings, turning on the gas in style to win the Magic Millions classic earlier in January and it looks to have all the hallmarks of a behemoth of a horse. 
 
Connections and pundits are obviously excited for what Storm Boy can achieve and as part of that, stud farms see the value in being able to continue the bloodline of a fiercely prolific winning horse. 
 
Chasing the Triple Crown 

The Sydney Juvenile Triple Crown, comprising of the Golden Slipper, ATC Sires Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes is one of the most sought-after gongs in Australian racing and Storm Boy looks to have the potential to do it. 
 
Gai Waterhouse has already overseen a Triple Crown triumph, with Dance Hero completing the feat for her back in 2004 and the blueprint has been firmly set out for Storm Boy. 
 
Each race won by Storm Boy will also add value to any potential sale, with as much as A$25m rumoured to be added to the value, if Storm Boy wins the Golden Slipper alone. 
 
Serious stock 

For all the talk and speculation surrounding Storm Boy and his future with racing fans and betting apps, it is easy to forget the stock from which Storm Boy has been yielded. 
 
Sired by Justify, the only US Triple Crown winner to retire undefeated, Storm Boy comes from a bloodline of big-race winners. 
 
Managing expectation with any horse with the stature of Storm Boy is always the challenge but the 2-year-old looks to be at the peak of his powers, and everybody is lining up for a piece of the action.

The performances put in by Storm Boy so far in 2024 have caused a real stir with experts and online betting sites, with the 2-year-old being put up for sale. 

With a potential fee of A$50 million, Storm Boy could turn out to be the most expensive Australian race horse of all time and he looks to have a remarkable career ahead of him.
