Saturday Racing Tips - Randwick 23/12/23

10 races adorn a very good-looking card at Royal Randwick on December 23rd and there will be plenty to get on board with at the biggest and best Aussie bookmakers.

Anticipation will be at fever pitch in the opening race of the day here at Royal Randwick and a very decent field has been assembled in the curtain raiser. 

The Drinkwise Plate is a race for 2-year-olds, meaning there is likely to be a frenetic nature to proceedings but there are some very strong horses in the mix, all of which are catching the eye with many Aussie bookmakers.

The relative inexperience of so many of the horses in this race will be offset by the quality of owners, trainers and jockeys lining up in this one. 

Ran over 1100m, this will be a real dash for the line and with some serious speedsters in the mix, it should make for fascinating viewing. 

Topping the betting is the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Straight Charge, a horse that comes from serious stock. A second place finish in its only career start at this course a few months ago will fill punters with optimism and the slightly longer trip should suit. There are challengers in this one, but Straight Charge looks to be the one to beat at $1.60 with Playup. 

The only horse to have won a race previously in this contest is Erno’s Cube, a curious horse that does look to have a lot of potential. The win at Newcastle was somewhat of a shock result but this is a step up in quality in the parade ring. 

However, getting into a winning groove cannot be ignored and Erno’s Cube makes a decent claim here at $4.00 with Bet365. 

With so much inexperience in the field, it is tough to firmly back any others on the card but both Pisces and Tarpaulin come from serious racing stock, and they should both be in the mix at $10.00 apiece with Punterspal.  

By the time the 8th race of the day rolls around, punters should have a firm idea of how things are looking at Royal Randwick on Saturday, with both old and new betting sites. 

With a cool A$160,000 up for grabs, this should be a very good contest and there are some reputable horses in with a good shot in this one.

Arguably the headline offering of the day in race 8, the Schweppes should be a fascinating battle, as plenty of horses with potential look to put down a marker in a congested field here at Royal Randwick. 

The horse at the top of the betting is Waihaha Falls, a Kiwi flyer who has been an inconsistent performer over the years but with almost A$500,000 of career prize money bagged, it has certainly had its moments at the sharp end of Australian racing. 

Conditions should suit and whilst there are plenty that have chances, Waihaha Falls is the one to beat here at $4.40 with Punterspal.  

Next up in the betting is Our Redente, a horse that has also picked up a fair number of wins throughout its career, without perhaps kicking on as many people would have expected. Conditions at Royal Randwick should certainly suit though and Our Redente looks good value here at $5.50 with Playup. 

There are plenty with chances here and none more so than Cavalier Charles and Chrysaor, two picks with good records here at Royal Randwick specifically and they look decent value at $5.75 and $7.00 respectively with Bet365. 

The penultimate race of the day at Royal Randwick is the Vale Mr Alan Gollogly Stakes, another contest that possesses a very strong field. Despite the relatively modest prize pot, there are some fantastic riders in the mix here and they will all be out to finish as strongly as possible at Royal Randwick this Saturday.

Stretching out to 1800m, this contest at Royal Randwick houses some seriously good horses and it is certainly piquing the interest of many horse racing betting apps. 
 
The horse to beat in this one is unquestioned, with French flyer Aristonous seemingly a tailormade fit for conditions in this contest and having put in a decent showing here at Randwick a fortnight ago, it looks very well placed. 

Bumping up to 1800m will suit too and it should be fascinating to see how Aristonous goes as the hot favourite here at $2.80 with Bet365. 
 
The international feel continues with the next horse in the betting ring, as Kiwi speedster Too Much Caviar looks to lay down the gauntlet in this one. Despite struggling for form, Too

Much Caviar comes from seriously good stock, and it cannot be discarded here at $8.50 with Playup. 
 
Whilst the favouritism is justified for Aristonous, there are plenty with chances in this one and both State of America and Rogue Bear have strong placing shots at least at $8.50 and $10.00 respectively with Punterspal.
