Saturday Racing Tips – Royal Randwick 14/10/23

Whilst the Everest is sure to get the pulses raising for both punters and the biggest Aussie bookmakers a A$20 million prize pot, there is a full 10-race card at Royal Randwick on Saturday 14th October, with plenty of excellent contests to get behind.

There are plenty of high-quality offerings at Royal Randwick on Saturday and perhaps one of the overlooked contests is the Gloaming Stakes in race 4. A group 3 contest ran over 1800m, the hefty A$500,000 prize pot is indicative of the strong status of the race.

By the time race 4 rolls around, punters and betting apps alike will be getting used to conditions at Royal Randwick on Saturday and there should be plenty in the mix for this one. 

Topping the betting is the prolific Tom Kitten, a horse that seems to have been around for ages, despite only being 3 years old. Having placed narrowly in its last three outings, Tom Kitten looks primed and ready to go in this one and it should enjoy the longer 1800m trip, making it the justified favourite here at $2.50 with Playup.

The strength of the field is epitomised by the next horse in the betting, with Snowball looking to fulfil bags of potential here. The Chris Waller 3-year-old won over this distance at Rosehill Gardens just a fortnight ago and is clearly made for contests such as this. Coming in at $5.50 with Bet365, Snowball should be firmly in the mix here.

A plethora of inexperienced horses find themselves in contention too for the Gloaming Stakes in 2023, with both Pushy and Ganbare catching the eye in recent victories. Both horses have pace to burn and could find themselves in contention at $6.00 and $7.50 respectively with Punterspal. 

The most lucrative race on the planet takes place in race 7, with the 12 fastest horses in Australia going at it for a shot at glory.

Ran over 1200m, the contest is often over in the blink of an eye but with a A$700,000 entry fee and a $20 million prize pot, the stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday are huge.

Despite being relatively new on the calendar, The Everest sees millions of dollars laid down every year and there should be plenty of movements in the betting ahead of Saturday with old and new betting sites alike.

Picking up hints and vibes off the rest of the field is not an easy things to do, with so many quality operators chasing glory and the huge prize pot available in The Everest. Hawaii Five Oh has been cherry picked by the notorious Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott for this one, whilst In Secret has the prolific Zac Purton on board for James Cummings.

The big races keep piling in at Royal Randwick on Saturday, with the King Charles III Stakes generating plenty of attention following on from The Everest.
