Saturday Racing Tips - Royal Randwick 09/12/23

10 excellent races adorn a super card from Royal Randwick on 9/12/23 and the biggest and best Aussie bookmakers are fully on board.

The third race on the card at Royal Randwick perhaps doesn’t hold as much grandeur as some others but it should be another compelling contest. The Coolmore Highway Handicap holds a hearty prize fund of A$120,000 and there are plenty of decent horses looking to pick up big wins here. 
 
All of the biggest and best Aussie bookmakers will be on board, as they look to see plenty of traction across the rest of the Royal Randwick race card.

There are some supremely exciting horses taking to the track in this one, testament to race organisers at Royal Randwick, who have assembled an excellent field. 

Topping the betting is Golden Decade, a horse with a fierce reputation amongst New South Walian horse racing fans and it looks to have a superb future ahead of it. 

With 7 placings from 10 starts, Golden Decade knows what it takes to get over the line and it is the firm favourite to come out on top here at $2.60 with Playup. 

In hot pursuit is the unknown quantity of sorts in the race, as Rapbidash puts its 100% career racing record on the line, in some rather esteemed company. With three wins from three starts, there is a feeling that Rapbidash could be one to keep an eye on for many years to come and it should be worth a look here at $3.20 with Bet365. 

On rating and form, the two favourites do look to be a cut above the rest of the pack but Associate and Ferro Vero are two horses that could potentially spring a surprise or two.

They would have to put in career best showings to compete here, but they are certainly both in with a shout in this one at $8.50 and $11.00 respectively with Punterspal.  

Group 2 racing is sure to grab the attention of both old and new betting sites in race 7, as the Ingham takes centre stage at Royal Randwick. Ran over 1600m, this age-old contest has long been sought after by owners, trainers, and jockeys. 
 
A boost in the prize money sees A$2 million up for grabs here in the prize pot, a welcome boost to the coffers of all involved in another epic contest.

Some of the best Australian and international horses around line up here for the 2023 incarnation of the Ingham at Royal Randwick. Topping the betting is Detonator Jack, a horse that has consistently put wins on the board for connections and there is a hope that 2024 should be another hugely successful year. 

Winning at Kembla Grange last time out felt like a changing of the guard moment for Detonator Jack, who has long been tipped for greatness and another win here would do the reputation a world of good.

Big races such as this always attract big names and few in the parade ring can compete with the stature of Osipenko. The Kiwi flyer is very experienced for a 4-year-old, and it will want revenge here, having finished 3rd at Kembla Grange and it will be one to keep an eye on at $9.00 with Playup. 

Elsewhere in the betting ring, claims can be made for many and in Vilana and Cepheus, there are two of the best horses around in the midfield in terms of betting. Whilst neither horse is being too talked about, they may end up being ones to watch at $13.00 and $17.00 respectively with Bet365. 

Next up on the agenda is Racing and Sports Razor Sharp Handicap, another contest with an array of strong horses in the field. 

With another A$200,000 in the mix, claims can be made for plenty of the horses in this contest and with many of them having raced before, the stakes look to be pretty high in this strong handicap field.

This contest over 1200m will be fast and furious and the ground at Royal Randwick should make for a fascinating battle. 

Topping the betting is Insurrection, a horse that has won 4 of its last 5 outings and its versatility looks to be its USP from a punters point of view. 

A sharp win over 1000m at Kembla Grange last time out looks set to be the perfect precursor here and with Zac Lloyd on board, it will be in contention from the outset. 

There are some strong challengers here but Insurrection is the horse to beat at $3.50 with Bet365. 
 
By the same token, With Your Blessing is a horse that has proven plenty of doubters wrong of late and it should revel in the racing conditions here. A confidence boosting win at

Kembla Grange will be the most recent memory and if it gets a good run, it could be tough to top here at $3.80 with Playup. 
 
This has the look of a perennial three horse race, with Recommendation the biggest challenger in the betting ring – especially over this distance at Royal Randwick. Claims perhaps can be made for or against this 4-year-old but it has pace to burn and Recommendation should be firmly in the mix in this one at $5.50 with Punterspal.
