Saturday Racing Tips - Caulfield 03/02/24

Caulfield tends to deliver when it comes to big race cards and once again on Saturday 3rd February, an impressive field has been assembled, with is sure to catch the eye of both punters and Aussie bookmakers.

With such an excellent card in prospect at Caulfield on Saturday, the big contests come thick and fast and the third offering of the day looks to be an enthralling one, with punters and Aussie bookmakers alike. 

Ran over just 1100m, the action will be fast and furious but with a healthy A$80,000 in the prize pot, there is a huge amount at stake here.

With a mix of experienced and lightly raced horse in the mix in this one, calling the winner is no easy task but it promises to be fascinating viewing for the neutral. 

Topping the betting is Johnny Rocker, a very exciting prospect for Nick Ryan, who is yet to demonstrate its full potential at this level. 

A good run at Flemington last time out in finishing second will be confidence boosting and it is certainly the horse to beat in the betting ring here at $2.05 with Playup. 

Next up in the betting is Dakota Lee, a horse that has incredibly never lost a competitive race, but this is a clear step up in class and quality. Winning is a habit though and whilst it may not have the best racing credentials, Dakota Lee certainly cannot be written off here at a tempting $6.75 with Bet365. 

Claims can really be made for almost the whole field in this one, with it being such an open contest but perhaps the two that stand out the most for value are Miss Icelandic and Tanto, who come in at $7.00 and $9.50 respectively with Punterspal.  

The prize pots step up somewhat by the time that race 4 comes along, with a hearty A$200,000 up for grabs in the fast and frenetic 1000m contest here. 

With some excellent horses looking to continue their good form and some challengers to the throne, it should be a superb race, which is sure to catch the eye of punters at both old and new betting sites. 
 
Chairman’s Stakes  

Any race that takes place over 1000m is up for grabs, with the short track a potential minefield for punters and Aussie bookmakers, but some of the very best in the business over that distance lineup here in Caulfield. 

Eneeza lines up as the favourite for this one, with the 2-year-old having impressed hugely in its two career outings so far and the conditions here at Caulfield should certainly suit. 
Inexperience is the key question of course but if it gets a run, Eneeza has pace to burn and it will be difficult to stop at $2.65 with Punterspal.  

Close in behind in the betting ring is Coleman, a horse that looked the part in winning its only career race so far, over course and distance here at Caulfield. 

The competition here is certainly stiffer but Coleman knows how to win round here and it should certainly be in with a shout at $2.90 with Playup. 

This is another contest where claims can be made for plenty but two horses that really catch the eye are Scampi and Counteroffensive, who both come from serious stock and they could well be worth a go at $7.00 and $8.00 respectively with Bet365.

Concluding the card at Caulfield is another high-quality contest over 1400m, with plenty of big-name trainers, jockeys, and horses looking to finish their day on the best possible footing. The A$130,000 prize pool is sure to make things interesting and it promises to be an excellent conclusion to a solid day of racing.

Finishing a race day strongly is the ultimate aim for any horse trainer worth their salt and plenty of big names line up here in pursuit of a strong finish to their day out at Caulfield. 

The runaway market leader is Jimmysstar, a flying New Zealander for Ciaron Maher, who looks to have the potential to go on to bigger things in the future. 

Winning impressively at Cranbourne last time out was another feather in the cap and Jimmysstar will take some beating here at $2.00 with Bet365.
