Gai Waterhouse achieved legend status in the Australian horse racing Hall of Fame

Very few trainers in world horse racing have enjoyed a career as successful and extensive as Gai Waterhouse, with the 71-year-old having resided over some of the very best horses to have ever competed. 

Any horses hailing from Waterhouse’s yard are always highly thought of by punters and online betting alike and with even more success in 2023, there appears to be no sign of Gai Waterhouse easing up.

Her current training coalition with Adrian Bott is continuing to be prolific and with her global racing status at an all-time high, it was no surprise to see Gai Waterhouse awarded legendary status within the Australian racing Hall of Fame.  
 
Group 1 Great

The career of Gai Waterhouse has been etched into Australian horse racing folklore for some time, with the First Lady of Australian racing having bagged over 150 Group 1 winners. 
 
She was elevated to ‘legend’ status in the Hall of Fame at the 2023 Australian Horse Awards last week, a gong that was thoroughly deserved and she continues to blaze a trail at the very sharp end of Australian racing.
