Big names assembling for 2024 CF Orr Stakes

As the calendar turns over to 2024, the first Australian Group 1 race of the year is catching the attention with punters and online betting sites in equal measure.

The CF Orr Stakes holds its own in the congested world of Australian racing and the 2023 edition of the contest will live long in the memory of most online betting sites. 
 
Whilst the history books will always state that it was the Damian Lane ridden Jacquinot that won the 2023 CF Orr Stakes, that only tells half of a fascinating story. 
 
Lane and Jacquinot looked to have lost out to Gentleman Roy, who was first past the post and in celebratory mood under Mark Zahra. 
 
However, a stewards enquiry deemed that Zahra and Gentleman Roy had impeded Jacquinot and the result was overturned on review. 
 
Familiar faces in contention 

Whilst the field for the 2024 won’t be fully declared until early February, there are a whole host of usual stayers who will be chasing CF Orr Stakes glory in 2024. 
 
The manner of the defeat endured by Gentleman Roy is likely to give all associated with the flyer an incentive to challenge again here in at Caulfield. 
 
Whether Jacquinot is entered to defend its title remains to be seen but the likes of Tuvalu and Aegon are horses that certainly fit the bill in terms of profile to run in the 2024 CF Orr Stakes
