Marcus Rashford has struggled for form.

Is Marcus Rashford back in the goals?

News Insights

  • Marcus Rashford has ensured a quiet Premier League season.
  • He scored his 6th goal of the campaign with a thunderbolt in the Manchester Derby.
  • The strike was in vain however, as City beat United 3-1.
  • Can Marcus Rashford use that goal as a catalyst for more this season?

With 30 goals in all competitions for Manchester United last season, many punters and EPL betting sites expected Marcus Rashford to be banging the goals in once again this season.

However, it has been a relatively difficult campaign for both Manchester United and Marcus Rashford and the goals have seriously dried up.

Rashford managed his 6th Premier League goal of the season with a 30-yard screamer in the Manchester Derby and he will be hoping that goal could kick start the rest of his season.

Red-hot Rashford

There is something about the Manchester Derby that always stokes a fire within Marcus Rashford and the Manchester United striker was at it again on Sunday.

Registering his 6th goal for United in the fixture, Rashford looked to be at the peak of his powers, as he lashed home a 30-yard strike, catching City completely on the hop.

Ultimately, City were far too good for United once again at the Etihad, but Rashford’s goal will give him and United fans a glimmer of hope for the remainder of the season with EPL betting sites.

Troubles for ten Hag

The start of 2024 brought about some much-needed optimism for Erik ten Hag and his side but that looks to have been quickly quashed.

United were talking of breaking into the top 4 shakeup just a couple of weeks ago but now look to have a mountain to climb if they are to catch the likes of Aston Villa and Tottenham above them.

Erik ten Hag has a myriad of injury issues to deal with and is probably only expecting to finish inside the top 6 and he knows his side will need to finish the campaign strongly to avoid a summer of speculation.

Rashford to the rescue?

Curiously, Marcus Rashford has only been given a run in the team lately due to an injury picked up by Rasmus Hojlund.

The Danish striker was starting to find his feet in the Premier League but is now on the sidelines.

Rashford’s goal tally of 6 in the Premier League is poor by his standards but he will be hoping to take crumbs of comfort from his Etihad strike and get back to his best, with Euro 2024 on the horizon too for England.
