EPL 2023/24 Matchweek 22

Following distractions with both the African Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup, as well as the Carabao and FA Cups in England, the routine of the Premier League returns.

With a full fixture list, both in midweek and at the weekend, EPL betting sites and punters have plenty to work with over the next few days.

Huge games are on the agenda at both the top and bottom of the Premier League table and it should be another unmissable round of fixtures.

Matchweek 22 Fixtures

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

City Ground, 31st January 2024 – 07.30

Nottingham Forest will be desperate to continue their mini resurgence in the Premier League, as they take on Arsenal.

The Tricky Trees have shown signs of improvement under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo and they are starting to be backed by many EPL punters and betting apps to survive the drop this season.

Arsenal meanwhile have had to field question marks surrounding Mikel Arteta’s future this week but remain in the hunt for the Premier League and they should be well rested ahead of this one.

The City Ground will be rocking here but Arsenal are a good side, who should come out on top. B

Luton Town vs Brighton

Kenilworth Road, 31st January 2024 – 07.45

Relegation threatened Luton Town will be eager to put in another big home showing here, as they take on Brighton.

The Hatters have belied many predictions with soccer betting sites and they continue to fight for their lives in the Premier League but they do have a job on their hands to secure survival.

Brighton meanwhile continue to battle in the top half of the Premier League and they will bring their entertaining brand of football to Berkshire here.

This should be a good one, with Brighton most likely to be able to turn on the style when it matters.

Fulham vs Everton

Craven Cottage, 31st January 2024 – 07.45

Having exited two cup competitions in the space of a week, Fulham will be desperate to get back on track here against Everton.

The Cottagers sit comfortably in mid-table this season and they will hope that they can continue to build on their positive start during the second half of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Everton continue to battle, despite their 10-point deduction and Sean Dyche will want his side to make this as tough as possible for Fulham.

Calling this one is tough but perhaps home advantage could prove telling for Fulham.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield United

Selhurst Park, 31st January 2024 – 08.00

Two sides in the relegation shakeup face off in East London, as Crystal Palace welcome Sheffield United. The Eagles have really struggled this season under Roy Hodgson and something needs to change at Selhurst Park this term.

Sheffield United meanwhile are ticking along under Chris Wilder but they haven’t been able to generate any sort of momentum in their survival push and they will be eager to have a good go at a beleaguered Palace here.

That said, Palace have plenty of Premier League experience and they should win well in this one.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle United

Villa Park, 31st January 2024 – 08.15

High-flying Aston Villa will be doing all they can to stay in the title race, as they take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

Villa have been superb this season, keeping pace with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City and a top 4 finish looks to be firmly within their reach this term.

Newcastle by contrast have regressed a little this term, dropping back down the Premier League table and they will be desperate to buck the trend here.

This should be one of the games of the round and with Villa purring at home, they could pick up another famous triumph.

Tottenham vs Brentford

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 1st February 2024 – 07.30

Tottenham will be eager to force their way back into the top 4 shakeup, as they welcome London rivals Brentford.

Spurs lost in heartbreaking fashion to Manchester City last time out and their season looks to be in danger of falling off the rails, if they drop out of the top 4 picture.

Brentford meanwhile are trending in the opposite direction, now that they have star striker Ivan Toney back in their ranks and they will play without fear here.

That may not be enough though and Spurs will want to secure a big home win.

Manchester City vs Burnley

Etihad Stadium, 1st February 2024 – 07.30

Manchester City are clicking inti gear in the eyes of many punters and online soccer betting sites, with Burnley next to arrive at the Etihad Stadium.

Late wins for City at Newcastle United and Tottenham will have given them a huge confidence boost, as they continue to fight on three fronts this season.

Burnley meanwhile see their manager Vincent Kompany return to his old stomping ground but they will be out to make this as tough as possible for City.

This may be a big win for the blues, who tend to come good at this point in the season.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

Anfield, 1st February 2024 – 08.15

Anfield will be rocking following the news that Jurgen Klopp is set to depart Liverpool and they will be raring to go here against old foes Chelsea.

Sat top of the Premier League, and still in three more competitions, it could be an incredible season for the reds, with the news that Klopp is set to leave at the end of it, only adding to the expectation.

Chelsea meanwhile have brought carnage to every game they’ve played this season and they won’t fear Liverpool here.

That said, Liverpool are a winning machine currently and they should come out on top in this one.

West Ham United vs Bournemout

London Olympic Stadium, 2nd February 2024 – 07.30

West Ham will be looking to ease the growing sense of discontent surrounding David Moyes, as they take on Bournemouth.

The Hammers are still in the Europa League, as well as in the top half of the Premier League but progress does look to have stagnated a little in recent weeks and they need some results.

Bournemouth by contrast are flying this season, sitting pretty in the top half and they certainly won’t fear West Ham in this one.

This should be an excellent game, with goals on the table and the points could well be shared.

Wolves vs Manchester United

Molineux, 2nd February 2024 – 08.15

Manchester United travel to Wolves, in what should be an excellent game in the West Midlands.

Wolves have been ticking along very nicely in the Premier League and their FA Cup win over local rivals West Bromwich Albion will do them the world of good.

Manchester United meanwhile have reached the last 16 of the FA Cup too but have only the Premier League to battle on in this term, in what has been a disappointing campaign for Erik ten Hag’s side.

This will be a good one, with Manchester United potentially having enough to pinch the points.
