Can Cole Palmer win the EPL Golden Boot?

Heading into the 2023/24 season, it felt as if the EPL Golden Boot race was a formality, with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland ready to retain his crown. 
 
However, injuries has impacted Haaland this season, (who has still bagged 20 goals), and it has opened up the race for the 2024 Golden Boot. 
 
Former Manchester City man Cole Palmer has been banging the goals in for Chelsea and he now finds himself in the mix.

The role of Cole Palmer at Chelsea when he was signed from Manchester City was somewhat of a mystery for many punters and EPL betting sites. 
 
Whilst his talent was undoubted, Palmer had been a fringe player at City, who never demonstrated his full capabilities in the Premier League. 
 
However, he has become Chelsea’s key attacking outlet and his ability to put the ball in the back of the net has made him a cult hero at Stamford Bridge already. 
 
Blue all round 

For all the superlatives being levelled at Palmer for his individual performances, Chelsea remain a long way off the pace in the Premier League. 
 
Cole Palmer was just one of many expensive recruits picked up by Chelsea in 2023 and largely, he is the only one that has had a significant impact on their season. 
 
The blues sit in mid-table, way off the pace in terms of the race for Champions League football but they are being tipped to push for a top 4 finish next season by many EPL betting sites. 
 
Can he go all the way? 

With 20 goals to his name, Palmer has been prolific for Chelsea this term and with 4 in his last outing against Everton, he is a man in form. 
 
The obvious threat to him in the Golden Boot race is Erling Haaland, but the Manchester City striker is still battling with injuries and his workload may well be managed for the rest of the season. 
 
Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa and Mohamed Salah at Liverpool are also in the chase, and it promises to be a fascinating battle to see who comes out on top and wins the 2023/24 EPL Golden Boot.
