Test stars set for BBL return

For any touring international cricket side, taking on Australia, in Australia, over Christmas and New Year is one of the toughest challenges in the game. 
 
Despite some impressive moments from Pakistan, Australia justified their heavy favourtism for a series win with many online betting sites, and they wrapped up a 3-0 series victory. 
 
As the Test Matches pause, the Big Bash is back to the forefront, with many of the Test Match stars ready to return to BBL 13. 

Warner keeps on going 

Much of the narrative throughout the Test Match summer has surrounded David Warner, with the legendary Australian opener stepping down from Test Match and ODI duty. 
 
However, Warner still wishes to be in the T20 fold for Australia and playing in the BBL is integral to that. 
 
An integral part of the Sydney Thunder operation, Warner will be eager to get bat on ball from the outset for the greens, as they look to climb the BBL 13 table. 
 
Smith back for the Sixers 

Whilst the prospect of David Warner back in action for the Sydney Sixers is a tantalising one, an arguably bigger return to action is that of Steve Smith for the Sydney Sixers. 
 
Having smashed an incredible 61 for the Sixers earlier in the season, Steve Smith is box-office everywhere he goes and the presence of him in a Sydney Sixers side will encourage plenty of bets with BBL betting sites. 
 
A prospective date for the diary is January 12th, where the possibility of Steve Smith’s Sydney Sixers taking on David Warner’s Sydney Thunder in a Sydney Derby at the SCG is a very real one. 
 
Batters not bowlers 

Whilst the BBL does have a lure that few T20 competitions can compete with, Cricket Australia will always prioritise the Test team over any franchise cricket. 
 
Workload is a key issue for the Australian Test side currently and it is expected that no bowlers from the Test team will be taking part in BBL 13. 
 
Meaning the likes of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood will all be taking a well-earned break through the remainder of BBL 13. 
 
However, the Travis Head, Alex Carey, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne could all be in BBL 13 action before the end of the campaign.
