Richmond are in the mire in AFL 2024

Four years is a very long time in sport, and plenty can happen in that period, but the demise of the Richmond Tigers has been seismic. 
 
Flying high after winning the AFL title in both 2019 and 2020, few could have foreseen the subsequent decline suffered by Richmond. 
 
They have started the 2024 season in the same manner they finished the 2023 campaign and with just one win recorded from 9 games this term, they are in the hunt for the 2024 wooden spoon with many AFL betting sites. 

Terrible Tigers 

Losing games is part and parcel of the AFL, with the fierce nature of the competition, one of the league’s biggest selling points. 
 
However, the Richmond Tigers have been way off the pace this season, at both ends of the pitch. 
 
They have struggled to keep opposition attacks at bay and lacked a creative threat themselves, a disastrous combination in the eyes of all AFL punters and experts.  
 
Bullish Bulldogs bite hard 

Going into their home game against the Western Bulldogs, there was plenty of optimism that Richmond could compete from the outset. 
 
The Bulldogs haven’t been pulling up any trees this season and came into the game having lost to Hawthorn last time out. 
 
However, the Western Bulldogs were rampant, blitzing Richmond 133-42 and it is a result that has sent shockwaves through the AFL. 
 
Can Richmond rejuvenate? 

Whilst the quality out on the oval within this Richmond side may not be at its highest, the fact remains that the Richmond Tigers are one of the biggest sides in the competition in the eyes of many punters and AFL betting sites. 
 
The only win recorded by Richmond this season, came against the Sydney Swans, a side that are vying to win the AFL Championship. 
 
So there is cause for a little optimism within the Richmond Tigers camp but they know they will need to improve hugely, if they are to climb up the 2024 AFL table.
