Can West Coast turn things around in 2024?

It has been a turgid couple of seasons for the West Coast Eagles and their fans. 
 
Hope is of course part of the fabric of every AFL side at the start of the season and 2024 was heralded as a new era for the Eagles. 
 
However, 3 losses from 3 games played has given the West Coast Eagles that all too familiar feeling, as another long campaign ahead beckons, making them wooden spoon candidates with many AFL betting sites. 

West Coast worries 

Two wins towards the back end of the 2023 campaign for the West Coast Eagles gave them hope heading into the 2024. 
 
However, old habits are appearing to die hard and three thumping losses have burst the West Coast Eagles balloon. 
 
Over a century of points have been shipped against the GWS Giants, Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs. 
 
Can they turn the tide? 

Being sat at the bottom of the table is a familiar feeling for the West Coast Eagles and they are wooden spoon favourites with many  
AFL betting sites. 
 
Optimists within the West Coast camp will point to the fact that only three games have been played and there is time on their side. 
 
The likes of Sydney, Richmond and Gold Coast are up next however, an indication of the mountain the West Coast Eagles have to climb this term.  
 
Who else is in trouble? 

The problems endured by the West Coast Eagles are certainly not unique to them and there are plenty of other sides in wooden spoon contention with many AFL betting apps. 
 
2023 AFL finalists the Brisbane Lions have lost all three of their opening games and are in real strife. 
 
Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Adelaide are all yet to win a game this season and as a result, the bottom of the AFL table is very congested.
