Can West Coast avoid the wooden spoon?

Sitting at the bottom of any sporting table is always tough for any team or their fans to digest. 
 
The West Coast Eagles have suffered hugely in 2023 and 2024, managing to win 3 games prior to the weekend just passed. 
 
However, a gritty and solid win over Richmond has West Coast fans believing in their team once more and there is hope that they could climb away from trouble in 2024, with the wooden spoon race on with many AFL betting sites.

Picking up three wins from the whole campaign in 2023 doesn’t tell the whole story for West Coast, who remarkably managed to win two games of the campaign. 
 
Meaning they managed just one more triumph from the remaining 21 AFL fixtures. 
 
However, they have been battling away at the start of 2024 and their performance against Richmond was just rewards for their recent efforts.

Throughout the whole of the 2023 AFL campaign, the between North Melbourne and West Coast was nip and tuck for the wooden spoon. 
 
Eventually, it was West Coast who suffered the ignominy of it, an outcome that had them as the favourites to collect it again in 2024 with many AFL betting sites. 
 
With North Melbourne struggling once again this season and Hawthorn finding it tough too, it could be a real battle to climb off the foot of the table in 2024.
