The conclusion of the 2023 AFL season has created a stir with plenty of betting sites and game week 23 promises to deliver in terms of drama once more.

Moving into position at the back end of the season is key and there is plenty of traction with the biggest AFL betting sites getting into their work for the penultimate weekend of the AFL season.

Collingwood vs Brisbane should be a thriller on Friday, with Sydney and Port Adelaide predicted to pick up good away wins at Adelaide and Fremantle respectively.

Collingwood vs Brisbane

August 18th, 19:50, MCG

Having the top two in the table go at it in the penultimate weekend of the AFL season is a dream for all multi betting sites and it has come true in 2023.

Collingwood have broadly bossed the 2023 AFL season, having too much for all before them to top the table, with the playoffs looming large over the next few weeks.

A recent wobble was corrected against Geelong last weekend, and they will be out to put on a performance for their home fans here against Brisbane.

The Brisbane Lions meanwhile have steadily progressed the AFL table in 2023 and now find themselves in 2nd place, with 2 games to play.

A top 4 spot is secured, so they won’t be feeling too much pressure here against the Magpies and may play with the handbrake off to a certain degree.

Predicting a winner here at the MCG is a tough one but with two exciting sides going at it, points look to be guaranteed.

Best Bet: Over 169.5 - $1.85 (Bet365)

Adelaide vs Sydney

August 19th, 19:40, Adelaide Oval

To the surprise of many AFL betting sites, Adelaide find themselves well out of the playoff picture – with only two games to play.

Sat 12th in the table, Adelaide need to win their final two games of the 2023 AFL season and hope results go their way, to break the top 4 this term.

Next up for them at the Adelaide Oval, however, is the mere prospect of a Sydney Swans side that are soaring up the AFL table.

Residing in 7th, Sydney have been resurgent in recent weeks and now have their playoff destiny in their own hands, something that looked insurmountable a couple of weeks ago.

This should be an absolute cracker, with plenty to play for in both camps but Sydney look to have the bit between their teeth, and they could pick up a crucial win here.

Best Bet: Sydney to win the match - $2.38 (GetSetBet).

Fremantle vs Port Adelaide

August 20th, 16:40, Optus Stadium

Broadly speaking, it has been a campaign to forget for Fremantle, falling short of their own expectations and those held by many different AFL betting sites.

With only two games to play, Fremantle are unable to make any impact on the top 8 above them in 2023 but they will of course want to finish the season as strongly as possible.

Next up at Optus Stadium is Port Adelaide, a side that has faltered in recent weeks but are reaping the benefits of their excellent early season form.

The Suns sit 3rd, with a top 4 spot guaranteed and they will want to keep momentum ticking over after beating the GWS Giants last weekend.

This should be a good one, entertaining at both ends but Port Adelaide should have the fire power to pick up a solid win.

Best Bet: Port Adelaide to win the match - $1.58 (Unibet).
