There is no bigger stage as an AFL player than the finals and the 2023 AFL Preliminary Finals promise to be two classic encounters.

Collingwood have long been amongst the favourites for AFL glory with many betting sites and they have their destiny in their own hands as they take on GWS Giants for a Grand Final place.

Meanwhile, Brisbane vs Carlton should be an absolute epic and plenty of AFL betting sites are fully engaging in both Preliminary Final fixtures.

Collingwood vs GWS Giants

September 22nd, 19:50, MCG

The 2023 AFL season has truly been a memorable one for Collingwood who cruised to the regular season title and for long periods of the campaign, the Magpies have looked unbeatable.

Whilst the air of complete invincibility looks to have left them slightly, Collingwood will be all too aware of the opportunity they have here against an exciting GWS Giants side.

The Giants have reveled in their role as party poopers this season, huffing and puffing their way into the playoffs and now sit on the brink of something very special.

They showed their quality to overcome Port Adelaide on the road last time out and they have been catching the eye of many punters and AFL betting sites in their run to the final 4.

For Collingwood, the MCG will be fully expectant – with a place in the Grand Final at stake and they will be out to show that they can finally win their first AFL Premiership title in over a decade.

Overcoming the GWS Giants won’t be an easy task and the side from Sydney cannot be discarded completely but Collingwood should prevail in this one.

Best Bet: Collingwood to win the match - $1.56 (Unibet).

Brisbane vs Carlton

September 23rd, 18:40, The Gabba

Two of the biggest sides in the AFL go at it here, as Brisbane host Carlton, with both sides looking to get over the line and reach the AFL final in 2023.

For the Brisbane Lions, it has been another campaign to remember, with their results making them a staple for many punters with their accumulators with multi betting sites.

Finishing second in the regular season was vindication for the excellent campaign enjoyed by Brisbane, as they chase their first AFL title since 2003.

The Gabba has once again become a fortress for Brisbane, who are a very tough side to beat, and Carlton know they will have to be at their best if they are to overcome the Lions in this one.

However, the Carlton Blues are arguably a better side than they are being given credit for and their run to the finals and subsequently the last 4 has been hugely impressive.

Carlton edged past Melbourne last weekend and should be up for this one, but Brisbane do look to have the bit between their teeth.

Best Bet: Brisbane to win the match @ $1.40 (Bet365)

For all the conjecture surrounding the game between Brisbane and Carlton, there are plenty of big questions that look set to be answered at the Gabba on Saturday night.

Brisbane’s physical approach has been too much for most sides this season but if there is one side that could mix it with them, it is the Carlton Blues – a side that have been in sublime form of late.

Points look to be guaranteed in this one, with some of the sharpest shooters in the AFL looking to add to their tallies - Charlie Curnow of Carlton and Joe Deniher of the Brisbane Lions.

Whilst plenty of AFL betting sites have made the Brisbane Lions the relatively short priced favourites to come out on top in this one, there is plenty of value to be found within the in-play betting markets.

Both sides will want to assert their playing style over this one and points do look to be on the cards at both ends of the oval.

Best Bet: Brisbane vs Carlton – Over 160.5 the match - $1.65 (GetSetBet).
